Trying to put together a package with this +Viet Speedway +(?) for Assassin or SARA brews... what's it worth/what's it take to score that stuff? Am I way off?

I think you are a little off but not because the beers you have aren't fantastic. They just don't carry the hype factor. You could probably get some SARA brews but you'd have to find someone that really enjoys the AleSmith beers (like me!). I have aged BA Numbskulls for two years and they are just fantastic with some age on them. They don't have any hype, but I promise a little time sitting on the Numbskull and you will be in for a treat. I just wish more people were in to barleywines. Especially one that consistently wins GABF GOLD medals

Good info, thanks. I just don't see the Numbskulls up for offer here very often so I was curious...

yeah. me too. I have never really offered them up and never really been asked for it. But i get the feeling I won't be able to get beers for the BA Numbskull that I like as much or more.. Maybe, but its an expensive beer and it would take someone who appreciates good beer over hype and is willing to pay the 30 bucks plus shipping to drink it

I could search my post history and provide a direct quote, but I'm lazy... but I've said similar before: AleSmith BA beers (maybe excepting the Grand Cru) are not really worth trading for other beers. They are consistently at the top of their style, but now that production is relatively higher, they don't seem to trade all that well. You can still get some good stuff, but I can't imagine getting more enjoyment out of another BA brew that makes such a trade worthwhile.

BVASS has been trading pretty nicely. From what I've seen. I personally won't trade mine because it's so smooth and yummah.
