What is reasonable to believe that the approximate trade value for the new release of Framboos in may will land on? I personally have no idea of how big the demand will be. Especially as it still seems as there are a couple of tickets available for Sour&Bitter.

Who knows? We don't know the bottle count, or the number of attendees, or how much it'll be (except for "expensive"), or basically any of the pertinent factors other than the name.

The number of attendees will be roughly 200-250 according to some old RB/FB posts by Jeppe/Drikkeriget... and the allocation will be 2 bottles per person.

But sure... we don't know anything of the true bottle count.

Oh, yes, I knew the 2/person, should've mentioned that. I hadn't seen the number of attendees.

Regardless, we can play some guessing games. Jean Chris Nomad was more bottles and probably cheaper (right?), not at any particular event, and is trading pretty high. I would think that given the Framboos pedigree, fewer bottles in distribution, the higher price, and the fact that so few will end up being taken out that it will be harder to get than Jean Chris.

All that said, I have one pretrade lined up, for an older bottle of Cantillon. I wanted it for sentimental reasons (birth year) and it seemed fair to both of us. That will likely be the only bottle I trade, so I don't have any particular dog here, lest anyone question my motives.

I think we all know that that will have nothing to do with how well it trades. Besides, it's Armand, it'll at least be a good Framboise.

If we thought the King Henry, Kate, and Beatification demands were high, we haven't seen anything yet.

Shrug. Everyone and their brother won't be going for this, and only a handful of people will be trading it. I don't think it'll overwhelm the ISO:FT the same way beat/kh/kate do. Though I'm sure some ridiculous things will change hands, probably mostly in international trades.

In other news, they just announced the price, about $35, and that the limit will be 3 per person instead of 2.

I've had a couple really stupid offers sofar (my allocation isn't for trade). If you're thinking about trading yours Viktor, you'll probably get a pretty good response. Throw out a pre-trade for some things you're looking for and see what happens.

I don't know that it'll make much difference that there are tickets to S&B still available. It's not like someone who wants a bottle can just buy a ticket without also dealing with travel costs and other logistics. ~750 bottles in a small number of hands with only some hitting the trading forums will probably be more significant.

pretty much anything specific anyone says is meaningless unless they're actually trying to set up a trade.

would be nice if "beer trading: general/help" realized this truism.

If this beer truly is only available at that event (which I still doubt), I would probably be willing to part with a 375ml Don Quijote for one for a domestic trade only.

i tried asking a few people to fly to copenhagen and pick this up for me, since it was going to be available there for a known period of time, but got no takers. i'm a little put off. this community is going downhill.

a release this small, with a reputation like that- good luck pinning down a value. Wasted effort.

The two for trades I have seen are Depuration and 4x Rare. Saw one FT that looked like it got done with a Wooden Hell. I think we can presume the trade value is top tier. Really I just hope everyone knows somebody who went and hope they open one with you.

I think you'll need to bring out the big guns. People might want to drinks this.
Some bottles will be send out to regular trading partners leaving only a few for the open market.

i could see it being much tougher, considering blabaer is made yearly and this hasnt been made in over a decade.

Good point, but this batch is untested on a wider market yet. Although... limited release sours don't have to be good, so I'm pretty sure you are correct. Maybe somewhere between 1.5-2x Blabaer.
