I have a nice little stash of this stuff, It was a One and Done brew - Pretty soon I won't even be able to find any here (pickings are scarce as it is now) Would like to trade this for some other highly rare brews. What's it worth?

    More Info = http://saintarnold.com/beers/divine_12.html

This beer was inspired by David Rogers’ winning entry in the 2011 Big Batch Brew Bash homebrew competition. The color is orangy amber with a light, creamy head. The nose has rich malt notes and a little alcohol that combines with a spicy hop note to create a complex bouquet. The taste has a spicy, malty beginning that smoothes out into a creamy middle and a warming finish. While this beer is enjoyable now, it is designed to be aged and will shine after a year or more in the bottle. This will allow sherry flavors to develop as the alcohol oxidizes. It is also important to allow this beer to warm up so that all of the flavors emerge and round out the high alcohol level.

We did not filter this beer. When pouring we recommend decanting it, carefully pouring the first 10 or 11 ounces without allowing the sediment to enter the glass. If you want, you can pour the bottom of the bottle into a separate glass, but you will discover that the decanted beer is a little brighter in flavor.

76,842 12oz bottles, 8,184 bombers, and a bunch of kegs of a beer rated a 80 mostly by locals?

If you want a much more honest answer (and less sarcastic responses), it probably better to not act like a salesperson who is trying to hype the beer. Also, saying you are trying to trade for "highly rated" brews probably doesn't help your case. Perhaps list something mroe specific and you can get an idea what's in the same ballpark?

From my understanding, this is probably a nice local but not a lot more. As huskermike12 said above, it really isn't rare at all and it sounds from your description like it sat on the shelf for a bit. I'm sure you will find someone interested, but I really wouldn't expect huge value here.

DR releases don't sit on a shelf in Houston unless it is in some remote grocery store. I only found 1 6-pack on release day and have not even bothered trying to trade it since it is just ok. I have extrad a couple bottles though. It is in high demand in the Houston area, but outside of that it is just a limited release that the beer community as a whole will not jump through hoops to trade for.

I sent some bombers and 12 oz bottles out as extras in some of my recent trades.

I don't see it pulling anything other than quality locals in a trade deal.

I know of a place in SA that still has some on the shelves. I had it on draft tonight. I liked it better than the bottle, but I think it needs to be aged.

I could only see this as an extra. You'll probably get more for a fresh Endeavour, which I find is harder to come by than DR12.

If you're after a long-lasting and fruitful experience on BA, you may want to hit the reset button your newly-created profile, OP. Then again, given your posts so far, that's likely not what you're after; carry on.

It's worth a spot as an extra in a trade with more interesting bottles. Even then, this beer is getting pretty miserable reviews, so I'm not sure it is worth that.

out of all the blatant "i'm not really asking about value, i'm advertising," threads, this one is the most blatant.

    OP, you should lurk more.

edit: for some clarification, if you're looking to enter the exciting world of the beer market, try going to a beer store. if they're hiring you can even make some profit with it.

not trying to pile on, but i went to check join date and wow, i had a really hard time finding the join date...then i realized that it wasn't a date, but rather a day. i've never seen that before. if you join within the week it simply says "join date: sunday" -- made me laugh out loud.

seriously though. this is a local beer...it will trade for other locals at $4$. i wouldn't expect to do a trade of just a few bottles, maybe a 6'er of it. a quick google search shows that a 6'er goes for about $15/$16 bucks (less than $3 a bottle). so a fair swap would be a 6'er of sierra nevada bigfoot or so. no one will swap you anything "rare" or even not off the shelf for this beer. if you hold it for 2+ years, you might be able to get some other retired seasonals, but as of now, it is essentially a local for local beer.

although sexual chocolate is not viewed as the greatest beer on the planet...$5 of a local shelf beer won't get it done. good luck and happy trading.

I have, I think, a case of this stuff, if someone wants to trade, no it is/was not rare, it was interesting and I have enough for the full two year aging. Not looking for something rare, just something interesting that I have not tried.

You received a lot of straight up answers - this just happens to be the only one you wanted to hear, as obvious from "you hit the nail on the head".
