    I would say yes, definitely.

I don't think so. While not the best indicator, grey market value is pretty different between these bottles, with the 3F stuff being more expensive.

If I'm wrong....FT: Selection Lambic 1999 ISO: Blauw.

I have been out of the trading thing for a while, but back in the day these beers were on a similar level. I don't buy into the grey market thing as they are both expensive and pretty hard to get if you are in the States.

I can say that Blauw has gone down hill steadily for years, with Roze holding up a little better. Haven't had the 99 Selection in 6-7 years.

Agreed they were similar - but Selection Lambic has been popping up recently (even available on Mikkeller's web shop right now), whereas Blauw is no longer for sale to go at DHVL and trade/monetary value seems to keep increasing on it. Sounds like Blauw has some variability; I've heard mixed reports from people who have opened a bottle recently.

I think your opinion on this would be in the minority for what it is worth.

I'd be very surprised, as i have never seen Blauw or Roze on a webshop in recent months.

I don't treat beer as a commodity, so if I had a beer sitting around that I've had before, I would trade for another beer that was new to me. And as I said before, the two more "valuable" beers have been going downhill the last few times I have tried them, so their value is going to be nil soon, at least for somebody that wants to drink them rather than put them in display in the basement.

I don't think you understood what I quoted above. I wasn't talking about anything you said in your response. I simply stated that the general consensus I have hear/seen/read in regards to Blauw is not aligned with your feelings. Not sure where this rant about not treating beer as a commodity is coming from.

More of a hung over misunderstanding, probably. But dude only needs one guy to make the trade, and I might do it if I had said beers... I have had Blue and Roze many times, Selection Lambic only once or twice.

    I just traded mine 1:1 with a 2001 3F Oude Geuze FWIW.
