Of course, now see, then that favors you in many instances, since not many beers cost a minimum of $60. If you wanted one of the more hyped BA AC stouts, you'd be asking them to send you around 2 bottles, in order to meet your $4$, since they cost $35. Some would find that unfair as well, depending on the beer.

Well the msrp for GTS is $99 and I paid double that at a liquor store. Are $4$ trades calculated at msrp or the amount the traders paid for it?

$4$ is usually what you paid as long as it wasn't from secondary.

But that just further proves the point. No one I know would be interested in trading 2x BA Adjunct Trail, 2x BAIGCCS, and 2x BA Rocky Road for a GTS...and still being lower than the cost to you. Those 6 AC bottles would be ~12 VRU trade value.

I’m not too familiar with those beers but I’m guessing they’re far more rare and valuable than GTS? I think a $4$ trade would only work with beers of similar rarity to GTS because in that case someone might be willing to trade beer they paid $200 for to get a GTS since that’s the price they would pay in a store if they could find it.

What beers do you have in mind? Considering no beer costs that much off any shelf or from any brewery except some really whacky outliers, you're either looking for multiple bottles or allowing $4$ to be their secondary cost, which isn't usually how that works (basically scrapping the request for $4$), and is what you originally seemed averse to...

If you're open to it and don't want to overvalue your bourbon, and since Theorum is what you originally stated, you should just try for it.

Yeah I get what you’re saying, trading limited bourbon for beer $4$ doesn’t make any sense haha. I think what I was originally hoping for was my GTS for 2 bottles of FT with a couple solid +’s like FO or the like. I now realize I was pretty far off haha. Thanks again.

I just had this same discussion with some one that was looking for "$4$" for a lambic that they payed near-secondary for at a liquor store, which is far from what it is sold at other liquor stores and the primary source. Personally, I don't think "$4$" is equal to "what you payed for it" given the prevalence of so many liquor stores that sell bourbon and beer at a very high markup and distort such.

It makes more sense to equate "$4$" at MSRP or "lowest that it's generally sold" rather than "what I payed for it" given the high markups.

That being said, bourbon to beer creates a whole different set of complications.

Is there any interest in Wild Turkey Diamond Anniversary in the trade forums? I have a bottle (~$130 MSRP) and am trying to decide if I should open it this weekend or trade it. Was hoping for something along the lines of Maman or BAIGCCS. Would this be close?

    Cheers!

B3k is a great beer and I traded away more than a case early. Once it hit Tavour I think it's value tanked so not much interest in it anymore.

I can never tell someone's tone from just reading text.
....thanks again (happy face) or ....thanks again ( not so happy face)?
I honestly think @LGHT comes off very obtuse, but maybe he's a really nice guy but just comes off that way on BA.

Side note I always wanted to use the word obtuse since I seen the shawshank redemption.

As someone who enjoys whiskey/bourbon but can get the higher end ones in my region of CA and wants to trade for I was hoping for some advice on 2 inquiries:
    1) What's the current bourbon tax look like? Is it a seasonal thing?
    2) How would you rank order these: THH, WLW, ORVW, Birthday Bourbon, Eagle Rare?

Looking to land a nice bourbon with a Fundamental Theorem as an anchor with HI+ possibly 2 Modern Times good members only bottles for something like a THH. Am I even in the neighborhood? Thank you to any who have some good insight.

On a side note, does anyone know what happened to @Beereconomics? Miss that guys constant updates.

You should ask around and see if Florida also got distribution. Perhaps word got around and so now they think if they are going to trade away their DFPF they should ask for something that didnt make distro. Either way, ive had it and its great. Traded a RBAVSS for one. Highly recommend fresh but like their other berliners, after a month dont bother.

Thats a good suggestion...I honestly assumed Florida did not get distribution. Ive since just posted a list of beers I have available (including the 3K) so we will see if I get any hits.

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but what kind of trade value could I expect from a KBBS glass? Perfect condition, never used, with a gold rim. Am I looking at something in the Midnight Orange range, the FOb4 range, the Prop 18 range, or higher?
