Yes 1 for 1 for fob5, probably a little light on vsoj side for fob4

Finally found someone actually interested in my FVM 19... He offered goshawks grasp, coconut crown, and BL bastion of reason. Feel like this is somewhat even? Hate trading BA for non BA but I'm not all too interested in FVM and it seems like no one else is either.

Yes, that is a fair trade.

Why do you hate trading BA for non BA? Do you like the flavor of a barrel? Perceive that BA is better/always higher valued?

Mostly the fact that BA is higher value/increases in value the longer you hold it. Also the fact that opening a BA bottle with friends is more of a "special occasion" than popping a non BA stout that a brewery made/bottled in about 1/4 of the time.

In summary, no real good reason I guess.

I liked FVM '19.... maybe on the sweeter side but great for a share.

Does OGV trade 1:1 with golden blend?

Easy answer on this one. No, and it’s not really even close. OGV is much harder to land than Golden Blend.

OGVs range dramatically on how hard they are to land though. Easiest (by a large margin) would be OGV 16 (375) and then would be OGV Honing. OGV ‘02 and ‘03 are nearly impossible to land.

No prob! Not sure what side you’d be on but I could see maybe some combo of Golden Blend ‘11 and ‘14s landing an OGV ‘16, and possibly an OGV Honing. Older OGVs are extremely tough to pry out of people’s hands. Have failed many, many times haha. Good luck!

I bought a summer box from drive, so looking to potentially trade one for some other lambic. Really undecided still.

Seems like Black Magick Double Oak is trading at a very high point at the moment, so I want to ask if Damon '19 would go 1:1 with it at any point (now or sometime down the line)?

I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Seems fair. For me, these type of trades always boil down to someone wanting Damon and having BM DO, vice versa, and getting it done. That’s probably a naive way to look at it, but it’s how I go about trading.

Of course, whenever the new, hot beer comes out, those in possession are going look to get the most bang for their buck and may scoff at this offer and my reasoning above.

    Good luck, Eddie.

I agree with the poster above, this seems like a trade that could get done regardless of secondary. Maybe a few ipas on top to get it done. I personally think this is the best BM since Pappy and am trying to trade for more bottles myself to drink down the line.

Does FO go to distro? If so, why not a straight $4$ that you paid for it at BL for an equal amount of cans of LSD? That’s the route I’d take.

That makes it even more appealing. I've had the Rye (Black wax), Blue, Green and Silver, and have enjoyed all of them, with Silver being my favorite. It's become 'a thing' for me to eventually trade and get all of them (except for Summagick because what I like about BM series is that they are non-adjunct and highlight the barrel character).

That's what I'm thinking, but I don't know how much the LSD is

I think they are typically $10 per can retail.

They're honestly some of my favorite beers out there. The 12oz format makes it easy to solo as well! The DO version is all sweet caramel and wood while still being fudgey, it's impressive what they can do without adjuncts.

if you're referring to 2nd Shift LSD they go for like 10 a can each if its a BA Variant can. regular is something like 15/4pk, and the non-BA coffee are like 8ish a piece. right now they only offer Heaven Hill BA Maple at the brewery and its 10 a can or 40 a 4pk.
