You should definitely expect at least a modest premium for your $130 in beer. Long term trade partners are the best, but you’re giving up “rare” beer for easily accessible beer and it’s someone you may never trade with again. I do $4$ trades with my CA guy and don’t hesitate to swap Maman and BAA $4$, but it’s not my first trade with him. I know I’m working with someone reliable, a friend after all this time. Plus, you had some travel expenses for going to Prop Day - I doubt your trade partner is traveling for the beers they’re getting you. Could be wrong. Good luck, man! Surprised you aren’t keeping any of your bottles, but variety is the spice of life.

I agree with you on trusting long time trade partners. I have a couple where I'll send a box when I can fill a 12 shipper and vica versa under no predetermined time frame or agreed upon bottles. It's like christmas finding out what bottles are inside as I take them out.

I also agree that someone should be overly generous for the op's bottles.

I coudn't disagree more on the whole travel expense thing though. Once I hear that while working out a fair trade with someone I step away from the table.

Look - I’m not saying pay for the dude’s steak and hotel, it was more to make a point that he’s trading rare, hard to get (this is where the travel example comes in) bottles for something the other trader can probably dig out of his cellar or pick up at Bob’s Liquors down the road. Make the example once a year release versus a year round release.

Are you keeping any of those or did you just go to Prop Day with intention of trading them away?

Brand new to trading, but already in the know about flipping bottles.

Agree with the travel for point. You’re making the sacrifice on your own to travel wherever to get the beer, that’s on you. You should not go, im from Kansas and went to TG to get assassin so I expect x+ due to the distance I had to go to. Also he lives in Indiana, if it’s say Gary he didn’t travel far but southeast indiana is a different story.

Subjectively speaking that there are a lot more ISOs for El Rio than Starve C. I hate to use secondary but in the NoVA beer trading group (FB) it closes higher than starve c. It should close easily 1:1 and very quickly if you are providing a plus.

Just to get a feeling for where KBBS is. I would offer, either for the last release or the upcoming release:

    Voodoo:
    Double Oak Black Magick
    Summagick
    BA Real Thin Pancakes
    All three Zangief variants
    Hot Garbage set

    9:1

    Would that get it done?

    Those in the bourbon know...

    Where does
    EH Taylor
    Elmer T. Lee
    Stagg

Sit in comparison to BBT b2 /b3? Derivations?

    1:1? Which side adds?

I got it done for the last release with a mix of bottles including a BM, Assassin, and some Aslin. I went probably went over but both of us were happy and I checked the box, lol.

ETL and EHT (assuming normal version, not something like 4 Grain) are pretty far below BBT / Derivations. George T. Stagg has closed BBT b3 1:1, could probably do the same on D10? Would need a plus for BBT b2 and well short for any of the other Derivations

Right now it would be close to 2 Reserves. After Black Friday, it would be like 1.5 Reserves IMHO.

How do Handjee (2018) and Birthday Bourbon (any year) compare?

I know nothing about trading for bourbon, so take my inquiry as total ignorance if I’m off: would a BBT b2 get Weller 12 X2?
