Going to be obtaining a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year. I would like to trade it for a KBBS. What is the value for the ORVW to KBBS?

I'd think these would go pretty close to 1:1

Should be 1:1 IMO I'm looking for ORVW and have a KBBS  I'm actually trying to bundle for 2x ORVW or ORVW + BTAC. If you have any other whiskey sent me a message

I have a VR looking for BA Big Poppa variants from J.Wake. Whats reasonable to expect to get with the VR.

1 VR no longer equals 1 VRU. Up is down. Down is goldfish.

I feel like it's not too far off with the bottles being smaller format

Unfortunately there is alot more demand for Voodoo beers and not as much for Kane. Add in that the Kane set ($60&4pp) hung around until the next day while afaik the BARTP ($19&2pp) sold out the day of. So you are probably there with the 3:1 and I would hope the other trader throws in some cans to even the $$ out.

Pancakes side needs to add. This is closer to 1 RTP : 2 SB.

Voodoo beers start off super high and drop off of a cliff value wise. RTP side needs to add.

Sorry to add to any confusion lol, just wanted to chime in because I've traded both of these. He or she might be right after all, but my experience was different than that of the other commenter.

To continue to muddy the waters, whoever's getting the Voodoo is losing out. Just because limits are low (since they sell at half a dozen or so locations) doesn't mean it's a better beer. Kane is head and shoulders a better brewery in every regard and Voodoo has never made a beer as good as regular Sunday Brunch, let alone some of their other higher tier barreled brews.

Not at all - you are providing a valid data point in a completed trade. I am basing my assessment off of everything but a completed trade! Thank you for contributing!

Phew. That is quite a take. I'm a Kane fan, but wouldn't consider anything they've done with the exception of a few (not SB) anywhere near most Magicks.

I think Voodoo's quality is all over the map, with far too many beers being downright trash, including a number of their barrel aged stouts. I have never had any beer by Kane that was below very good quality. Not to say there isn't any at all in their entire catalog, but despite my proximity to Voodoo, I've had way more Kane beers over the years because of my chase for them and respect for them overall, including a good number of repeats.

The Magicks might be the only case Voodoo has...but to me, when barrel aged stouts have stale cheese and rusty metal notes to them, saying they are overhyped is an understatement. ...especially for a brewery who largely only has poor takes on "Belgian-style" beers on draft when you visit them, and almost never anything dark at all...

Yup, I agree that Voodoo is all over the map. And I agree that Kane is relatively consistent (although there are surely some mediocre offerings in there, I've never had a really great IPA from them even if they rarely dip below "good").

That being said, Voodoo are known for their top of the line stouts and not for their deep catalogue, and I wouldn't put Kane's best near the Magick's (and a few others) save for a few. I'm assuming you agree with that, even if you vastly prefer Kane to Voodoo generally.

What Voodoo beers are you referring to here? I've seen you praise Kane lots of times on these threads, and I actually decided to trade for some of their stuff as a result. I was impressed, although I wouldn't put them above the BA stouts I've had from Voodoo (and certainly not leaps and bounds ahead, as you seem to do).
