I’m traveling this week but more than happy to see if they are still available when I get back on Friday. They were still on the shelf yesterday before I hit the road.

If you have a coolship, this would be a good 1:1 trade.

Thanks. I got a '17 Cable Car, '16 Duck Duck Gooze, '19 BA Abraxas, '17 Devil's Heart Of Gold, '15 Mother Of All Storms, '19 Saison Bernice, '18 Funky Wit Raspberry and '18 Funky Wit Melon for my 2 bottles of Coolship Bardus. Beleive it or not, these were the lowest offers I got, but I still felt incredibly guilty. I even told both of them not to go overboard and send that much. I'm hoping it's a little more accessible, because I really want him to get one.

Looking for the newest Fundamental Forces. Where does that sit in regards to:

    1) Central Waters Anniversary bottles
    2) Transient BA offerings
    3) American Solera BA offerings

Do you see anything from any of these breweries going 1:1, or am I going to have to put together a set of something? Thanks!

Im a little confused by all this as you have Coolship Bardus up FT on your last thread from yesterday on the search for top 100. I would hope you would be able to hook up said friend up that you "really hope gets a bottle".

Yeah, that doesn't look good out of context. I've already spoken to the trader (definitely not a friend, the guy doesn't even like me - shocker). Unfortunately, it isn't my decision to give it to him. If it were or I had one to spare, I'd just send it to him. That's why I'm getting opinions on the secondary value of it, because despite having no connection to the guy, I'd still like to see him land one. Unfortunately, I just can't help him with it.

Aren't you the BA who was complaining about traders who trade in secondary and not $4$? That is a haul for 2 Coolship Bardus and I don't think it's anywhere near $4$. I am just curious if there was more to that trade because based on what you wrote that looks like an absolute haul and not even close to $4$. Based on what you wrote it seems that secondary is only valid when you have the prized bottle, but not applicable when you are trying to get your ISO. Interested to hear your side of this....

Are you saying that you recieved those 8 bottles for your 2 bottles? I thought you were highly critical of not trading $4$, maybe I'm misunderstanding? And this just strikes me as weird given how out of whack it is with Bardus's general trade value.

I never said everyone should trade $4$. I said the hype markup on some beer is ridiculous, and I encouraged traders to seek out other options, because not everyone auctions their beer to the highest bidder. I think secondary value is often incredibly arbitrary, particularly when talking about yearly releases, or even options that are more frequently available. I think 10x-20x the cost of a beer is downright ludicrous. I do think there's a place for it for extremely rare, ultra-limited beers that are one offs, ticketed event releases, lotteries, etc... but that's a different story, and my opinions on extreme secondary values are documented, and I'm not going to get into that here.

As for my Bardus trade - I literally took the two lowest offers I got. You should have seen what was being offered for it. I could have been greedy to a disgusting degree, but I couldn't do that. The beers that were sent were not what was agreed on. One was just for DDG and MoaS, and he threw in a Bernice. The other was for BA Abraxas and Cable Car, and the guy filled a 6 shipper of Perennial without telling me. To-date, that is the only time I made an exception to $4$, and I never wanted that much for it. Like I said, I could have taken a much bigger offer. My hands are clean, and while those traders were generous, I never demanded that much.

    Hope that clears things up.

Lmbo this guy just keeps giving to the BA community, my favorite portions highlighted (I only went through one comment, I'm sure there were other good ones)...

I see a lot of people asking about LPG/LPK/LPF. The right person (not the majority of profiteers) will be willing to trade at $4$. Speaking from experience.

Elmer T. Lee and Weller 12 can be had at $4$. Speaking from experience.

DBH (and regular Huna) can be had at $4$. Speaking from experience.

Cable Car, BAA, and DDG can be had for the right Allagash bottles. Speaking from experience.

Pappy can be had at $4$ with the right trader. Speaking from experience.

BCBS Rare '15 can be had at $4$. Speaking from experience.

RHF can be had at $4$ (and is entirely overrated). Speaking from experience.

Marking bottles up 500% to try to squeeze every last ounce of beer or bourbon out of someone is a real dick move. Fact.

Instead of trying to make a profit on every single rare bottle you have, consider sharing them with others who may not be able to get their hands on such bottles. Sure, if both traders are happy with the deal, then get something nice for a limited bottle every once in a while. The whole, "Well there's no way someone will trade you X for XX, you'll have to add XXXXX + X and X to close that", is just ridiculous and entirely arbitrary. B:B:T costs about the same (at the brewery) as two normal BCBS variants. Why are you trading it for 10 times that? You've had it before? You're not interested in keeping it? What harm will come from letting it go at close to equivalent sticker value, for something awesome that you can't normally get? You aren't actually losing anything by doing so. Arbitrary secondary values don't benefit anyone, but the people looking to entirely monopolise the value standard for such beers, and auction them off to the highest bidder. What ever happened to the true spirit of trading? It has become a stock market, with who can get the most for this or that? I know my opinion is unpopular, but man, I can't be the only one who just enjoys sharing the damn beer with good people. I gave into "secondary value" for a bottle of mine like one time, and I still feel guilty about it. If I had regular access to all the crazy "whales" I would honestly just trade them at $4$ and expect to get equally rare beer in return. And I'm not well off - I could absolutely benefit from ripping people off like that, but I have a conscience.

That's all I have to say  Keep up the good work!

Remember - the real beer karma comes from generosity.

... Well Sierra, I hope you feel extra guilty about this now that you've done it two times.

Not a shred. I stand by everything I said, and I appreciate you digging it out for others to see. Saved me the trouble of having to repeat myself.

I can't control someone sending me a shipper of beer that I didn't ask for, and that wasn't discussed. That guy is an absolute saint. Wow, so I traded a super rare bottle at 1:2. Interesting that the people who take issue with that are the same people that offered up their cellars to get a bottle of Pliny The Younger. Trade some big stouts for an IPA worth less than a minimum wage hour? Perfectly fine. Trade a rare 10 year old Coolship that will never see the light of day again for 2 bottles that were offered, not asked for? Get your pitchforks! Man, the hypocrisy in this value thread is something else.

I do find it amusing that it's always the same group of people who take issue with what I say. Isn't that interesting? I can't imagine what you guys do when you're alone with each other.

I don't think you'd be so emotionally resistant to this response if you weren't boldly contradicting your past statements.

Is the "same group of people" = every single person on BeerAdvocate? Because I've not seen many favorable responses to your posts anywhere.

btw @SierraNevallagash when are you going to rate the trade request @bstyle supposedly re-sent? What's the hold up? You got your beer and have all the information you could possibly need. Do the community a service and rate him appropriately, instead of posting walls of text about how you believe that you are always right, no matter how many sides of an issue you've been on.

Your comment and actions are completely incoherent with one another. It's absolutely no surprise that you're going to once again be surrounded by people kindly saying "Yikes, can you take a step back and reconsider please? You don't make sense" with nobody agreeing with your perspective. And it's no surprise at all that you're choosing to be defensive and obtuse when those people acknowledge the blatant gap between your words and actions.

Who knows, maybe after four pages you'll once again walk back everything you said after realizing that you completely misinterpreted others! However, I'm not going to choose to hold your hand through it another time and translate clear sentences for someone who pretty clearly has trouble interpreting comments on the internet lol.

Posts auctions, incoherent ramblings, let’s bad traders off the hook to possibly effect others in the future just because he’s scared of them, new money max profitz mentality. What happened to the good old days of gettin the ban hammer for just being fuckin annoying?

Plenty of people agree with my perspective, I can promise you that. They just don't want to put it out there, and have to deal with people like you. I asked a simple question in attempt to help someone else, revealed what I got for mine, and agreed that I got too much for it. I've said nothing that needs to be walked back. If anyone needs to take a step back, it's the people who pick fights for the sake of picking fights. You hear what you want to hear. I can't help you there.

People should be able to come to the thread have have a friendly discussion on the topic of the thread. Try to be a good BA.
