Is Tree of Life Port (lottery) worth a 1:1 trade for Vanilla Bean Truth? I’m definitely more of a stout guy than barleywine but should I be asking for more than just the VBT?

Each one is about 1 VR. Well at least the old VR value listed often as a reference.

Looking to trade a 2019 or 2020 (if I get one KBBS). Any info/opinions on which lines (each line being a trade for a bottle of KBBS) fair trade values would be very helpful. Thanks.

    - 3 Floyds Marshmallow Handjee (1 for 1)
-Angry Chair BA Imp German Choc Cupcake Stout + the non BA version
    -Maman + 3 Floyds BBADL
    -Cantillon LPK + LPG
    -Anchorage ADWTD + DO ADWTD

I think you'd be selling yourself a little short in all these scenarios. Unless the Handjee is 2016 or earlier.

Yep, I agree. I'm clueless about the lambic line, but a KBBS would be well over any of the other lines. Could probably trade a KBBS for (BAIGCCS + Maman) or (recent Handjee + DO ADWTD bottle)

If there was such a thing as rectangular pieces of paper w/ the face of the first US president on them, M10 bourbon would be worth about 220 of these imaginary pieces of paper and M10 rye would be worth about 240 of them.

(For the record, I think it's idiotic that we can't mention dollars on this site. Referencing dollars doesn't imply that people are buying and selling on this site, which of course they can't do. Rather, doing so provides a useful metric to help people figure out values and complete trades.)

Can anyone tell me what around a bottle of Stagg Jr. batch 14 could trade for? I know it’s sought after, but not nearly as much so as GTS.

Is this the norm for all batches now? I was under the impression that thay were half a VR unit with b12 trading at 1 VR unit.

Yea, they're not that high - definitely closer to a half, just over. Some people's valuations on this thread lately have seemed out of whack.

going off today’s value of VR. It is definitely not half, you half to factor in bourbon tax. All bourbon is crazy right now, but If you can get it for half (just over retail) then good on you.

VRU's are not equal to today's value, they're equal to $200. Stagg jr retails for $50 - which is typically what I've been able to purchase it at - and I see secondary ranging from $100-125. Bourbon tax on something like that should just be some extra hops, it's not pappiez

For a little more context, VR is Vanilla Rye (the Goose Island beer). This beer had been steadily valued at $200, so referring to a VR unit was a convenient way to be able to discuss the values of various beers without directly talking about dollars. But the value of VR itself is now less than $200, so referring to a VR unit is now pretty confusing. It's not clear if someone using this metric is referring to the established meaning of $200 or to the current value of VR (which is like $150 or maybe even less).

Can anyone provide any information about Resolute Coconut by Brothers Craft?

I never noticed it on BA's Top 250 list before, but it's on there now (actually in the top 100--#77 as of today).

Normally retired beers drop off the Top 250 (Good Morning being the most visible one to do so in recent memory, particularly in how long it took to drop off, and then the controversy around that once it did). But I think someone reported Resolute Coconut to be active again, possibly because it was brewed or released again recently (last year?).

The most recent review here was 3 years ago. There is 1 rating this year, and were 2 last year.

On Untappd for the 2019 batch, it stands at 4.06 with 131 ratings, which suggests to me it is no longer worth aggressively pursuing, at least relative to today's pastry game. However, the 2015 and 2016 have very solid ratings. There are no entries for 2018 or 2020.

I'm wondering if it really deserves to be on the Top 250, but unless more people actually rate or review the beer here, that's a losing battle. Regardless, anyone have any experience with it?

Not worth the chase. Had it next to coco noche and coco vibes and it tasted like a thin watery stout with mild coconut flavor. One man's opinion. From a trade value perspective I do think it has some trade value because of these ratings, but I am not sure exactly what it is.
