Would a ba pastry method be an acceptable replacement for a chemtrail 18? Or is it under?

Under by a fair margin. Although admittedly Moksa stouts are all creeping up in value, still not on the same level from what I have seen as Chemtrail.

What is KBBS b2 going for nowadays? I know my Chemtrail is in the mix. I am trying to figure out the rest and get some ideas on what I need.

Guys I need some advice please. I won a ORVW and would like to trade for etl. Could I get 2 etl out of ORVW? If someone would need a + who would it be? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

ORVW should definitely pull 2 Elmer, possibly even 3. Personal advice - drink the orvw, it is far better than ETL

Thanks for the reply. That much better? On some forums most people were acting like they were about neck and neck and hard to choose. Do you favor rhf over etl?

Elmer is sweeter, it's tasty but kinda simple. Rock Hill is spicier and bolder. I like Elmer more than blantons, but you can actually find blantons at MSRP. Secondary for any of them is stupid AF. Maybe grab a Hancock's Reserve and see if you like that first? ORVW can get you a very wide range of bottles, I wouldn't personally trade it down for something like Elmer (I don't understand the hype behind it)

I had Blantons for the first time the other night and wasn't impressed at all. Did a side by side with 4 roses single and it blew it away. That got me thinking if I'd be disappointed with Elmer since it's same mash bill as Blantons right?

I mean, that's kinda the thing - the most common descriptor I see about blantons is "it's smooth." Four roses SiB definitely packs more flavor - especially the cask strength & LE's (all very obtainable with orvw). While Elmer & blantons are the same mashbill, I do find that they are slightly different, but again - not worth it at the price ETL commands (imo)

Yes they’re the same mashbill. If you like Four Roses Single Barrel, the 2019 Four Roses Small Batch Limited Edition is supposed to be phenomenal. You could probably just about get that AND an ETL for your ORVW. Might require a plus but I think it could be pretty small and still get the trade done.

If I like 4 roses single better than Blantons do you think I'd like rhf better than Elmer? Does rhf pack more flavor than Elmer? Blantons was just so bland. Guess that's why they call it "bland"tons.

RHF and Blanton’s are super similar. I like to think of RHF as Blanton’s with just a bit more punch (its 7 proof points higher). ETL is a little less caramel brown sugar than Blanton’s and more fruity. But I wouldn’t quite call it floral like the Four Roses. I think ETL is different enough that’s it’s worth trying; however, if you weren’t crazy about Blanton’s it’s definitely not a guarantee you’ll like ETL. Personally, I slightly prefer Blanton’s to ETL.

You got me thinking about that four roses LE. I didn't know if ORVW would be enough. What does someone need for 4 roses 130th anniversary? Have you heard it's better than the 19' LE?

I’ve only had the 130th, which is awesome, though according to my buddy who has had them both many times, he says the 2019 LE is even better. They’re pretty similar in difficulty to land, although with an ORVW you should be able to land either and ask for a plus as well.

I don't really know where to post this so I'll start here - and in order to not clog this up, if anyone wants to DM me, I'd appreciate it.

I've never really traded (through the mail) - definitely met up with some people on the road to trade some things and whatnot.

I've got to the point where I want to try and trade for some Monkish stuff (as I've never tried any) and realized I don't know the first thing about A) who to use to ship to the west coast, B) how much it costs, C) how to package so that someone isn't pissed. I guess really the basics. If anyone could link me to a spot where this is already documented (I'm sure it's here - i did a quick look with no luck) or can give pointers, would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

If you look at the thread right after this one it’s right there actually in regards to shipping.

2018 was batch 4. Batch 2 is probably double the value of 4 I would think.

What's the peanut gallery's opinion on Modem Tones Vanilla and MTMVH for a bottle of bourbon or two? EC Barrel Proof or a Blantons Store Pick? What do these beers normally trade for?
