I agree with this advice and valuation. @dlcarst you can also keep an eye on the trade forum. I suspect you'll see plenty of ISO: Maman posts over the coming days, which will give you a good idea of what you can trade for.

 

@sjguglielmo great advice! Considering Maman is one of those beers that holds its value throughout the year and is always sought after you could sit on your extra bottle for a while and see what offers roll in like suggested above.

 

Agreed. Only with this year's Monster Tones. 2020 from what I heard fewer Theory members got and it's also the best of all years.

I am ISO: PVW 15, GTS, WLW

FT: EC 18, PH 11, PVW 12, MWND, Blood Oath 6, M10, Weller FP

Do I have enough there to get 2 out of the 3, W/O trading everything? and/or what is a fair ask? Specifically for PVW15

 

For reference, I traded a Lot B + WLW to get a Pappy 15 a few years ago. No idea where it sits today.

 

I’m hoping to package a CBC Maman + Perennial Anniversary 18 for a combination of Revolution Deep woods cans and a nice bottle of Pips. If I want 12ish cans of Rev back (not VSOJ as that seems to trade higher and I’ve been lucky and had it a few times already) what are some Pips bottles that would be a fair ask? I’m not very informed when it comes to trading for mead. Thanks!

 

It's going to be very difficult to trade for PVW15 without a big anchor. When you say PVW 12, you mean Lot B? Certainly a high-valued bourbon, but it's not even halfway to the value of PVW 15. I don't know the value of PH11, but I'd say you're looking at your other 6 bottles for a PVW 15, and even then you're probably still short.

GTS and WLW will be much more attainable. You should be able to easily trade your Lot B 1:1 for a '20 GTS (or with a plus on the GTS side if you get a '18 or '19). For WLW, you'd need something like Lot B + WFP + EC18 (or maybe PH11 instead of one of these...again, I don't know about that bottle).

 

Any chance you have some insight on how bourbons like regular Blanton’s or OWA would trade for recent (‘18, ‘19, ‘20) El Catador bottles? Is 2-1 in line with values? Is 3-1 possible or asking too much?

I have no idea if these are bourbons that are hard to come by in Florida. Thanks.

I have a bottle of Tree House - Truth that I grabbed last week. I split another bottle with my buddy and it is awesome. I would rather trade it for some bourbon. Any thoughts on what I could get? Is this even a trade that people would go for?

 

You can search the subject/title line in the Trading limited forum. There were some ISOs for Truth there. Not sure if any were offering bourbon, but you can check.

I honestly don't know about bourbon availability in Florida, but OWA is fairly available here in Ohio. However I see pretty favorable trades for OWA, and especially Blanton's. I don't see why 1 bourbon wouldn't get 2-3 El Cats.

Any guidance on stouts you are looking for? Here are some examples based on STL stuff

WFP SP + for BBTb4 (plus maybe like a blessed)
WFP SP for Maman 20 + (plus could be ^)

I'm not really adding in any "bourbon tax" so you may get a little bump on your value

Also I just traded a WFP SP for ADWTD DO 17 + Blessed + Blanton Coconaughty

 

I am not a secondary expert at all. I don't have facebook and this is the only real place I can try to trade for these bigger bottles (I do most of my medium level trading on instagram). So I don't know how far off I may be in trying to score these asks, but basically I am looking for:

I have a bunch of + beers to add in like EQ LBDS and non-BA Horus but i think they would mostly all be +'s and not necessarily a main part of a trade.

I am just really looking for some advice and want to make sure i dont offend someone with a bad offer or send too much on my end you know?

 

For reference, WFP SPs have been going for 300-350 secondary. But, as mentioned before, bourbon tax not included, and you might be able to get more from the Weller heads out there. Good luck on your ISO! Cheers!

How does maman ‘20 line up with Phase 3 Stouts like Eunioa’s and minutiae)

 

Hi all. I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are on value for the most recent batch of KBBS compared to BBT. My guess is that BBT 18 would likely require a good plus on the KBBS end, but that other vintages may be closer to 1:1. This being my best guess I am curious to hear what others more knowledgeable have to say, and appreciate any feedback on this.

I’m not an expert on this by any stretch but recently traded minutiae for a Maman 18, and had an open offer for Maman 19 for minutiae 1:1. The 18 trade was part of a package, but more or less was 1:1 for minutiae as well. I’ve heard from a couple people whose palates I trust that Maman 20 continues the downward trend of recent years, although I don’t think this means a lot in terms of trade value given the Maman name. With P3 still being relatively new and garnering a lot of attention recently I think there’s a fairly high demand for any BA bottle from them. FWIW I posted minutiae a couple weeks ago ISO an older Maman and received almost 10 replies, so believe an offer ISO Maman, and offering minutiae or eunoia will receive high interest.
