No problem. I don’t trade at this level (or on this platform) very frequently, but hoped my recent experience swapping these bottles would be of some use to you. Others who are more familiar with the fair market value of these may be able to provide a more exact answer, but I hope this gives you a ballpark/sense of how they compare.

Florida isn’t great for bourbon hunting. Antique is borderline impossible because it’s locked behind the ABC vault, and abc has exclusive access to Weller. The vault has everything from makers mark picks on the low end to Pappy on the high end. I think blantons 2:1 and antique 2+:1 or 3:1 wouldn’t be out of the question

You could maybe get something low tier. You’d probably need to add for something like OWA, maybe you could close for blantons?

big bottles are tough to trade for unfortunately because they either are sold for cash or trade for bourbon. Luckily you have a pretty solid anchor for a trade with the FP pick. Distractions crest/coconut s’mores should be 1:1 with that, you actually could probably get a plus on their side. Monster Tones might require a plus, the other 3 will definitely require a plus like one of those Horus member bottles or the Bokke

    Thanks for this.

Can I ask a follow up with details? I’m looking for a bottle of Stakhanov’s Barleywine. I’m also interested in a couple of the 2020 offerings in the smaller format. Would the Stakhanov’s with Charleywine and Sacred Ceremonies be in a reasonable 3-1 range for the OWA in your opinion? Does the smaller 2020 format on two of the bottles make this more doable?

    Thanks again.

Hi all! Wondering if a ETL and a Maman could pull any of these?
    KBBS
    BBT
    ORVW
    GTS

    Thanks for the input!

Thanks for this! One more quick question. Where would these fall in that same respect? I am pretty sure a plus would definitely be needed but are these even a level higher than the ones i mentioned before (starry, grasp) and would even more than one plus:

    Maman
    Handjee
    Assassin
    Kbbs

Would Aqua Black Magick (brandy) be able to close VSOJ 1:1? I am on the BM side and am wondering if I should be asking for or offering a plus. Thanks!

BBT 20 traded 1:1 KBBS 20 and 16 per the completed trades thread.

Is BBT 18 considered that much inferior to the other batches that it would need a good plus?

Honestly I’m pretty new here (have been lurking for a few years) and am not as up to date as others on current and fair trade value. I know that BBT 18 is considered by many to be the best, and may require a plus on the KBBS side for fair value. In terms of KBBS 16, I know that many people have that vintage as their GOAT, but have never had it myself. I know I’d be leery of any 4 year old coffee beer, so can easily understand someone wanting to trade out for any BBT vintage. I haven’t had the luxury of drinking BBTs side by side and can’t say any vintage I’ve had stood out above the others, and am basing 18 being worth more solely on what I’ve heard.

I’ll check out the completed trades thread for general knowledge and appreciate the insight there.

How big of a plus would be needed for the recent BBT to land an SR-71 b2? Here’s a few thing that I’d be able to work with:
    • Nillerzzzzz
    • Double zzzzz
    • Grove
    • Forager Riffs and Filters
    • BCBS Birthday & Anniversary
    • Rare 15
    • Assassin

I traded my BBT4 Package + CBC Maman for SR-71 b2 + Prop '20 + VSOJ + VSOR. Wasn't easy though, had to shop for a while and not many ppl out there letting go of SR-71. Would think the BBT4 alone would need around Assassin, but maybe a little more (maybe like a BCBS Anniversary+) just due to the rarity and right set of eyes needed to close.

Personally, I would ask for 2. Especially for a 12oz can. Plenty of Chicagoland shitlords sitting on a lot of these 4pks. To the point I think most BM bottles should pull 2 or more.

I think 2:1 since the large format bottle and charleywine seems to be the most liked bottle from this round

Maman and assassin are roughly equal and can get a plus if you’re offering a FP. They’re each roughly 2/3 the value of FP

    Handjee would be 1:1

KBBS would need a plus on your side, it’s just a touch higher than starry/ BA DG but pretty close

Honestly I have no idea which vintage is best. I probably never will have the luxury of trying more than one vintage at any one time and that was the basis of my thinking. That being said, you are probably correct that a plus may be needed on a less desirable year of KBBS (if such a thing exists ) for a more desirable year of BBT but I think with such high ratings, demand, quantity, (cough secondary cough) for these stouts, they should be 1:1.

Hey guys. Its about that time of the year for other half to release BA snowbirds and BA velvet magnum. Do these beers move the needle at all still? I know they used to a bit when they first came around but have no idea how people still look at them.

I don't know anything about bourbon but local bottle shop having a charity raffle for some 'rare bourbons' (Allegedly, the prices seem to suggest they're not that rare to me, but I know nothing).

Would like to know if they're valuable traders?

Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year
    Pappy Van Winkle 12 year
    George T Stagg 15 year
    EH Taylor Barrel Proof

Would these land whales like KBBS, Handjee, etc or am I looking at low-mid tier trade values? Could I get a rough ranking of them from highest to lowest potential value? Thanks

Yes, I have been trying to trade my KBBS for either of the top 2 bottles and I am adding a decent plus. The 2020 GTS is slightly above a KBBS and the Barrel Proof EHT is slightly below a KBBS it seems like.

Assuming all the latest batches, here is my estimate with bourbon tax. If anyone has more accurate info, please jump in.

    Lot B ~ 1.75 KBBS
    GTS / ORVW ~ 1.5 KBBS
    EHTBP ~ 1 KBBS

Trading beer for bourbon is going to be harder even with the likes of KBBS.

I honestly wouldn't include a "bourbon tax" in your examples since that is subjective to the person trading the bourbon. I'd use current secondary's and bourbon tax could be added if trader is seeking that out.
