It’s funny you mention that. I hadn’t read the full article and tried to go back and find it, and realized it must have been deleted. I was kind of surprised they deleted it because Todd posted some DDB content and said how much he liked him within the last year.

 

Obviously I can only guess here because the mods would rather not explain their thinking behind the deletion, but it certainly makes the moderation come off as **hilariously** thin-skinned when they feel the need to delete anything even slightly critical of BA.

Would a Fou Foune and Endless Ending be enough to land a 2022 BBT?

 

This has been going on for a long time. Probably around 10 years ago you could barely say anything without getting a “warning” and banned or given a break. Drove a lot of people away or made them visit the site less often, myself included.

 

No, you're only about halfway there. Endless Ending doesn't really have any secondary value (at least to someone holding a BBT) and Fou is like a third of the way there alone.

Yeah sorry, wish I had better news. Non-seasonal Cantillon like Racine, Drogone, or Sang Bleu is probably a better starting point. That said, at least you have a Fou still (hands down one of my few favorite beers).

First and most importantly, I’m incredibly appreciative of the transparency behind the team’s thinking on these issues. That’s all insightful, and I think expressing it does a lot to instill more confidence and trust from the userbase into the owners and moderators. I’m sure you’d agree… (which is why it’s a little confusing as to why there isn’t a dedicated space to air these kinds of issues out, and in fact I think we’re all surprised that it isn’t immediately deleted and swept under the rug). And again, it doesn’t seem like the team is all on the same page about that, as before I mentioned something here I reached out privately to Todd to, very respectfully, inquire. I received nothing back.

Anyway…

1. Re: deletion of BT thread. Yikes. I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that the BT thread shouldn’t have been silently deleted given that rationale. One user relied on another user’s promise and purchased beer for them. The other person reneging is something that others in the community may want to be aware of (even if it doesn’t rise to the level of a ban), whether or not the formal trade function was used.

2. Re: deletion of content… again, I reached out to Todd privately and received nothing back. I’m still struggling to understand why a moderator thought me posting a Kidd interview mentioning BA and his cancer was “off topic” in a thread about his cancer. I was also banned from participating in the thread, so that I couldn’t even ask there about it again or participate. I’m still banned. Surely you can see why this confluence of factors looks a little shitty to the users (and it sounds like others routinely experience the same), right?

I wish all on the team shared your feelings about transparency and decision-making but evidence is telling us that that isn’t the case.

You mentioned that the decision was “absolutely” not random to delete my post and limit my participation… I understand you may not have personally taken that action, but maybe someone could weigh in who did?

And again, I know this isn’t the appropriate forum for this but there aren’t many safe places to discuss this kind of thing here without getting immediately deleted/banned.

What would the value of MT Monster Tones and SARA Westly be right now? I'm trying to figure out what Toppling Goliath I would need to offer for both bottles.

 

It's tough to say. Seems all beer values have dropped in the past few years. Monster Tones I would say back in the day would get Assassin+ or maybe even ++ and Westly maybe 1:1 with Assassin. These days I would think you'd need Westly+ for Assassin and MT would be 1:1 with Assassin. All in all 1:1 with Assassin for each of your ISO would be fair IMO

 

Is asking for 8 cans (or two 4 packs to make it easier) of Monkish fair for a DBVSOJ + Boss Ryeway? I think that is over $4$ on their end, so maybe Im asking too much? But these are also not local....so not sure how to gauge that.

I have more beer than money these days, so trying to trade some dark stuff for hops locally. Already tried with my Horus BA member bottles, apparently no one cares about Horus or just no one is trading in-person....or both!

Yeah, the monkish definitely costs more, but it's not like you can go and buy the Rev cans on the shelf. So maybe toss in a nice extra or be open to adding a small plus?
