Alright. I really don't want to do anything until I have the beer. (Never promise something you don't have kinda thing) but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks and cheers!

I am in an area that I am not normally in, and would like to see if I can make a trade. Only going to make the trip (probably) once, so going to see what it would take before I post a trade and make a trip:

Looking for Rare '15. Would 2 Answer Crowlers do it? What about Veil cans - Would 2 4-packs get me there?

In both cases, I'm short $4$, but not sure if this is fair based on relative trade value?

I don't think you've got to trade $4$ to get it closed

I traded a last snow bomber and rum last snow bomber for a rare 15

    No chance.

As someone who has plenty of bottles of Darkness going back to 2008, I've been witness to the trading value of Darkness fall off a cliff in the past few years, starting when they began to hit retail (2013?). That's when the dreaded "it's a shelfie" posts started & nobody wanted it any more.

Your also dealing with a Venn Diagram, albeit a big one. The bulk of those with TG bottles can skip up to MN for Darkness & won't value a vertical as highly as someone across the country might.

Interesting how much less you have to say when asked for a constructive post vs just bring the nay

With that said... I don't see any place where you gave a alternative solution to the subject at hand. Possible I missed it amidst your discrediting the usefulness of this thread.

The vertical you mention is really only worth the money you paid for it. For whatever reason, darkness doesn't carry a lot of value. The only darkness which carries a lot of value are the early darkness bottles pre 2010. Would not be able to attain a KBBS or SR71. You could probably attain assassin + but the issue you have is most assassin people have probably have had darkness. I don't think you could attain a Handjee, maybe if someone really wants to do a vertical of darkness, just never know. Like Thirst said most people want a large anchor, but you never know. I would drink it myself because Darkness is a tasty treat.

You are correct, it is just one person's opinion, and he or she can do with it as he or she wants to. This thread exists to help people gauge what they might be able to attain, and get some feedback before they post a trade, so it doesn't get crapped on like so many people have done in the past, and to ensure some people aren't getting taken advantage of in a trade.

I participate in this thread because I enjoyed the previous version, and was often a lurker on it, and very seldom post because at the time I was a new trader, but then I got involved once I knew more about trading. I am posting here because I hope more people will post and provide advice so we get a consensus on trades. I have also gotten many messages from new traders asking questions so I think it is has its place.

I cannot help your lack of reading comprehension.

Again, I cannot help your lack of reading comprehension (a pattern?). I'll say it again. I think these threads are of limited usefulness if there are only one or two people providing feedback. Since I brought out other people to comment on the Dark Lord vs. MD issue, I'll say my whining was successful, & helped the thread, at least for one instant.

This sentence is missing two periods, & the grammatical structure is poor.

Deflection with grammar call out. It's clear you aren't here. To help.atall

You're whining really #just helped prove how incorrect you are!about this thread. It's a group.effort and someone even 2suggested you join in the effort. Did you read that? Did you comprehend that?

If you aren't willing to help them your usefulness to the thread is zero. So then you visit to type the reply to me should be your last

Really hard to tell what individual Bokkereyder bottles trade for as they’re traded so rarely. However, just based on flavor, Pjassel seems to me like one of the more desirable Bokkereyder beers out there, and as I’m sure you’re aware of, any Bokkereyder beer is very sought after. I’d say it seems reasonable enough to ask 1:1 and if no one replies then start to add.

With the sale on Monday being limit 1 with no proxies, I don’t think those 2 bottles would close it. Hopefully once the pick ups start we can see a completed trade or 3.

To further the discussion, I wouldn't trade a fresh MD for an aged VR without a point of reference. If I hadn't had a fresh beer, I don't see the point of trading for an aged beer because I wouldn't know what it was meant to be or how it developed in the bottle.

When a brewery does a release, it's based on the brew masters sense of perfection. As the consumer, we assume that time will do it justice which isn't always the case.

I always strongly suggest that the consumer tries a beer as fresh as possible.

    Don't trust a stranger & don't assume a beer was properly kept.

Point of reference is everything. If you don't have one. Don't assume one.

Where are you hoping to make this trade - IP in DC/VA, back home, or coast-to-coast shipping?

I’ve been to DC a few times for work (although it’s been a while), and Rare is (was) still on the shelf still out there, though it was $100-125.

You’d have a better chance back home or shipping, but I’m not sure how large the pool of folks who trade stouts for IPAs is. And by the time you grab 2 4-packs and ship, you might be halfway to that shelf Rare, so consider if it’s worth the uncertainty or if you might just try to find one there

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know there were any located in DC, but I have heard similar price stories for chicago and NY. Yea - trying to avoid that high of a price. Definitely was looking and/or assuming I'd be doing shipping over anything IP (here or back home).

Hoping that expanding (if possible/that works out) will reduce the overall cost/item of shipping to make it more worth it.

    I got a ‘17 & ‘18 DL for you if interested. I’ll throw in a plus also.

After finally having my first DL years prior and attending my first DLD this year I have to say that that beer is truly a once a year beer. Way to goddamn sweet. Think I had my fill this year to cover me for the next couple years.
