    Hello,

I’m new to trading and have come across a lot of conflicting info considering trade ratios.

I am currently looking to trade Jam The Radar and Space Trace. Is it reasonable to expect 2-3 (dare I say more) 4-packs of east coast NE IPAs (ie. Tree House, Trillium, OH, HVB, etc.)?

Coming from someone who has traded east coast hops (Tree House, Trill, Bissell & HF) for BL and other west coast beers, I always go $4$.

There are conflicting views out there. Some traders are clinging to traditional (over)values of their "east coast" hops despite the fact most of these places have increased production 10x or more, resulting in case (or more limits) of most releases and the market nationally approaches treehouse and others in quality, resulting in most people complaining treehouse doesn't taste as good anymore (when really their local hops just taste a heck of a lot better). Or TL:grinning:R once yearly produced barrel aged stouts no longer trade $4$ with weekly runs of IPAs.

This seems the smart way to go.

    There's even a handy $4$ forum

Leaner holds pretty high court but I agree the retail price of spon 750x3 makes that hard to agree to. I think 2 750s would probably be fair or 3 on your end with a bottle or two of Casey saisons or more regular offerings to ease the sticker shock would be reasonable

Depends on what year Spons, if first batch I would say 1 750ml and 1 375 ml is right. This years it may take 2 750 ml.

Yes, I would think you would need to add a few TH IPA cans to even it out.

Thanks for the insight @blkhawk14 !! I just don't want to sound like a pompous ass when I establish my "rules for trading". LOL

I was under the impression that most "sought-after" east coast hops are just as hard to come by as some BL bottles and some of the local west coast hops (i.e. Monkish). But the whole increase in production makes sense. Even $4$ kind of makes sense but I'm still having a hard time incorporating the time factor. Last year, I tried logging online to buy FO bottle and it was harder to score than Hamilton/Coachella/World Series tickets!!

Mind if I ask where you posted? FB trading group, BA forum, etc.?? I've tried posting to the trading forums on here and a Bottle Logic FB forum and haven't gotten any interest..

Posted here in BA, a few days after I picked up the bottles from Kane (end of April/beginning of May?). Was looking specifically for batch 3.

How many VR units for each of the following? If any of these are a lot easier than that, maybe compare to Huna or Abraxas or something around those levels?

    Bourbon Barrel 4th Dementia (BB4D)
    Adam from the Wood
    Cherry Adam from the Wood
    4D
    HotD Adam
    HotD Matt
    Alpine Great
ADWTD (Cognac, Double Oaked) and isn't the original Cognac as well? Any real difference between that and the cognac one in the set?

    Leon
    Mother of all Storms
    Kuhnhenn Barrel aged Barleywine

I think those with any ADWTD bottles really dig them and are hard to trade for.

    Pretty much this (IMHO):

I think we're so far removed from the release at this point that most people that have them either traded for them, or only have left what they intend to drink.

As I have said before, beers like RFI are not hard to trade for, so for you to land a ADWTD using that, it will take the right set of eyes, IMO. Not because it's not fair, but because you could land RFI with lots of other stuff. Why use ADWTD to get it?

My personal opinion is that you'll have the best luck with a large and varied list, and being willing to trade down. I.e. Maybe trading a VR for a ADWTD and a plus, or something similar to that in nature. If you are really hunting, make yourself open to letting people know you are motivated, and willing to be generous (if you are), and that you really want to get the conversation started.
