I have two 2012 Bell's Black Note Stouts and a 2014 Bell's Black Note Stout that I am trying to understand the value of. Would like to trade it for fresh NEIPAs from any of the heavy hitters.

I feel like those don't hold that much in the way of trade value. I could be incorrect though

No offense taken. But I guess I’m a victim of my own advice. I am so puzzled as to the drop in IWAAD b1 value. Maybe b/c b2 was released but b2 isn’t even the best Wake Fest bottle that was released. I get that it’s an adjunct stout which may or may not have a shorter shelf life than a non BA stout but it used to trade 1:1 with HJ 16 and Assassin 14+. Oh well, I’ll gladly drink my bottle. Just looking to try some other ghost whalez.

    Cheers!

I'd keep trying for the right set of eyes. Again, I think perceived drop in value is more about those who want a B1 vs a B2. Unlike some of the other stouts, that does not seem like one where a vertical seems so important.

    Keep looking!

About 6 to 8 months ago, I trade SR71 for IWAADb1 + Label Us + two DeGarde "The" series. If I had any SR71 left, I would do it again. I think your trade offer is more than fair and if I had any of your ISO, I would do it. Sadly, I'm down to one bottle of Assassin '16.

B1 definitely has value . It really comes down to every state going to every state

If we live in a world where vintage BN can't pull hazy IPAs with case limits then what are we doing here

I think thirst's comment was more along the line of being able to "hard" compare it in value to something of known value. Can it pull NE IPAs? Sure. Is it equitable to a BC reserve? Rare 15? VR? Hard to say.

I think this is more of a niche bottle thing as well, but that said, I don't think the value would be higher than Rare 15, unless there are a couple collectors looking for those specific bottles.

Bingo. Well said. Niche bottle is right.

Maybe $4$ trade for trillium or some of lesser known NE IPA producers would yield would be a better move

Also, for me personally ...trading stout for IPA? Ugh.

Is FS comparable to 17 Prop?

Fundamental Summation is similar to FO, and less than Prop 17 IMO, by enough that it needs a decent plus (i.e. not just 2 local IPAs, unless they are limited or something I guess. I am not in the IPA game.)

Appervation for RFI 1:1 was told I need a plus to land RFI. Thoughts?

Seems to vary. Sometimes it seems to go 1:1 with Rare, FO, and the like, and other times closer to 1:1 with reserve (Reserve being a little less than value than Rare). I haven't seen any quantity Appervation for bigger bottles (e.g. 2 appervation for a VR, or something similar) since Appervation first came out. I suspect it might still happen, but would take someone searching for it specifically.

So, to answer your question: 1:1 or 1:1+ is fair depending on the parties and the size of the plus. (2 cans of hops or a local 12oz BA stout or something (nothing too limited) seems reasonable. Nothing too large.)

blkhawk is off saving lives in the far remote concrete jungle so I told him I would start the thread today. Guidelines are the same as every week. See below.

The guidelines for this are the following:
    1. Under no circumstances should cash value, offers to exchange cash for beer, offers to exchange beer for cash, offers to exchange cash for prime grade A sirloin or really anything involving cash at all be mentioned. This will lock the thread immediately and you will be shamed. If you have to use a reference, I would recommend the gold standard of RVRU (relative vanilla rye units)
    2. Don't be vague. No one really knows if you're ISO or FT. No beer has a singular value, so asking "what can I get with X?" will result with a million answers. "What does it take to land Y?" Again please help give us an idea of what you have FT or where about you're at to give an idea of locals, etc.
    3. The purpose of this thread is to help users out and introduce some dialogue and conversation into the merits of a particular proposed trade. It is meant to help users new and old and be a bit more dynamic than the "completed trades" section.
    4. Have fun with this!

Great thread every week! First off...

Adjunct Trail and Prop 17 1:1?

I think Adjunct Trail would need to add. Maybe a AC crowler or another smaller bottle

Would Kane BA Sunday Brunch go 1:1 with a bottle from Cycle, Angry Chair, or even Bottle Logic?
