Trade Value Thread (May 2018)

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Chemtrail 18 is still trading pretty high. What's odd is it seems like a lot of people are specifically looking for that one and not 17. I tried to make a few without success as well.

 

Personally after trying both on Saturday, 18 was far superior to how 17 was drinking currently.

is it not the right set of eyes?

no one knows much about sara cellar beers aside from westly?

Looking to trade some VR for some lambic. Any thoughts on the following:

VR for LPK (2015 sticker)

VR+ for Fou+LPG+Nath

Any plus needed on the first line either side? What kind of plus on the second?

 

Are you trading international or local/IP in Europe?

An honest question, as I have only seen people with those FT, and not a ton. :

Do those have a well defined value? Or have you seen some completed trades, but all over the place? Or have you seen any completed trades?

 

Both seem pretty comparable if local in Europe, burn i don't know if valutions are ever different over there due to a relatively smaller supply of people willing to trade beers like VR (I assume).

Are FOb3 and FS roughly 1:1 on trade? I have FOb3 and am wondering if I need a + to get FS, or if the + goes on the FS.

 

I would say + on fob3 side as it's a slightly less desirable bottle and having to overcome Venn diagram issues (a lot of people with fs also have fo)

 

Yeah, you'll need to add a pretty good + with your FO, to land FS

 

I have a bottle of 2016 Burial Seasoned Skillet and really don't know the trade value at all. Would it be about 1:1 with a 2015 BC Rare? Or would I have to add?

 

Honestly, not sure that could serve as the anchor for a trade for rare. Due to high up front bottle cost and (perceived) rarity, a beer with more widespread recognition (and ISOs on boards) would be necessary

 

Makes sense. How about either a de Garde The Lily or de Garde The Lucy?

 

There goes my thoughts about offering up West Ashley+Fruit Punch+whatever else I was gonna throw at it. I might throw in the towel on this one. Offered up Dark Lord Brozerker++ and got nothing.

As for Sara cellar beers, I only know about a couple plus the ones someone offered for AdF as I looked them up to possibly trade. If all you were to write is "wundermutt or swarmbox" I would skip right over it.

 

Does RFI ever close for a variety of cans? I've looked at the completed trades and didn't see anything.

I have regular access to Other Half, Equilibrium, Hudson Valley (less regularly), and all other NYC/NJ breweries. I also sometimes get Tree House and Trillium.

Like I said earlier in the thread, trading with ratios is still pretty new for me, so trying to get an idea if I could ever land an RFI by bundling some of what I have local.

 

Looking for opinions on getting KBBS - Chemtrail '18 and Greatest Teachable Moment I assume is a good start. How much more would I need? I have FO b2, St. Lam '11, DDG b2, Kentuckley '16 and '17 (and soon '18), Prop '17. Many others to fill in as well.

Honestly? I think it would take the 2 dl variants, st lam and fob2 although the dl variants are hot right now so may be able to get away with less
