Anybody know is the first public release of QdR from SP will have substantial trade value?

 

Question for the bourbon nerds. Got myself a bottle of 2020 Van Winkle 13yr Rye. Thinking about moving it for some BTAC. Could I pull WLW + GTS?

I think you're about 1/2 a GTS short. What I've seen this week is VWFR is ~1400. Cheapest I've seen for WLW is ~1100 and GTS (Any year but 19) ~600. Hope this helps! GL.

 

I bet it would close fairly easy. BTAC is a lot easier to get than that VW rye. Plus Pappyz!

 

WLW is nearly 1:1 with the VW Rye. Probably a WLW and a small kicker.

 

This is pretty spot on. You can actually find Hibiki 21 in Japan for about 50,000 on occassion still. If you got that Hibiki as a gift, that's a VERY nice gift, and you should definitely drink it. I think it's one of the best "available" blended whiskeys anywhere in the world.

 

I think I’m going to drink it. I beyond appreciate the insight and from what people have told me, the value of drinking it is worth more than what it will trade for. Awesome insight. Pumped to crack it now!

 

Awesome dude, you won't regret it! If you don't like Hibiki 21y, then you don't like Japanese whisky period. It's incredibly complex and balanced. Just a stellar representation of how good a specific type of whisky can be. Cheers!

 

Any insight on where DB Assassin is currently trading? Would Eunoia B3 + Coconut Medianoche get it done? Any help appreciated, cheers!

 

I would think that's a pretty good offer. DB assassin seems to be trading between 2.5-3 VRU for the few that have traded. As more people get their bottles it may be more clear where this bottle will land.

I’m curious whether or not folks think that it’s even possible to trade beer for bottles like King of Kentucky, Michters 20, Pappy 15/20/23 etc.

If so, would Sr-71 and M be large enough anchors to start with? Knowing I’d still have to add multiple other good bottles. Or would you need something like a OWK or one off Lambic to even get the ball rolling?

Racine just closed DM on FB, so I think Racine alone could get BBT + Maman or KBBS + Assassin. I think it will be hard to find a single trade that will net BBT, KBBS, Maman, and Assassin without going over on your end. I think even if values match up with Drogone + Racine + 50N, you may have to add a solid 4th bottle to get all of these in 1 trade.

 

Any thoughts on the recent medianoche reserve bottles?

 

DM is Derivation Medianoche. I think that 4:4 offer is a reasonable starting point, but I would be surprised if that closed. I think it goes back to finding someone who has all those bottles who wants to trade them all in one trade. It helps that you have 2 nice anchors (Racine & Drogone), but it may be easier to post individual trades (Racine + for BBT +) or (Drogone + for BBT +) etc. Hope this helps.
