2x 2017 Bourbon ANTEAD + for a VR?

 

Each Barklord Day Bottle you could get easy 1:1 with Fou with maybe a small + on their side like some local hops or a smaller bottle. But international it may be 1:1 for shipping alone. An 18 Blabear 750 should be able to get 4 of the 5 bottles I'd imagine.

 

That's probably technically close to spot on, but a huge waste of the superior ANTEAD IMO, although a fantastic win for the recipient.

 

Those bottles are not 1:1 with fou....

Edit: Maybe 1 of them is, but they are not ALL.

 

Opened one the other night with some friends after getting back from the release on Saturday. Phenomenal beer, the VR has just been on my list for a long time and I don't ship so being able to go pick something up relatively close is nice.

 

Based on today's values I think they're both really close. Maybe a small plus on the Fou side.

 

Probably be helpful to tell us what you'd like to trade it for and then the feedback would be even more helpful to you. I could tell you it'd definitely pull a 2017 BCBS, but I know that'll have zero benefit for you. Just a thought.

 

I've seen a trade offer of OG Rare + 15 Rare for the bottle, and it got crickets.

 

My two cents here so take it for what it's worth. I couldn't tell you the value of the beer since it's not one that is traded often and therefore I don't think has a set value, but if I was trying to get the bottle I'd throw out a trade offer I thought was fair and if I got crickets would just keep upping my offer until I thought it was too much or I got a hit. Trouble would be finding someone holding onto a beer for 15 years and then willing to give it up.

 

If you do a search on this forum, you'll see posts asking about this beer pop up relatively frequently.

@Theredflame2 was looking to trade for this a bit ago, and trying to see how many GI Props (14 or 13 I'd imagine) it would take to land a bottle.

Since that post, it's popped up on tap at least a couple times based on some other threads that I quickly scanned.

It's not rated the best. This seems like a beer that tickets gotta tick. There's not many left. I suspect it would take a lot or the right set of eyes, or both. If you're seeking to trade yours, I think that's a different game altogether.

 

Still looking for this bottle... have tried rare beer, have tried rare bourbon... no luck..good luck to anyone trying to find it

Cool thanks for the reply. Would it be fair to assume that 2 Fou with a plus should be able to get me the 3 barrel aged bottles from the set? If so what kind of plus are we talking?

 

2 Fou and a plus of iris, kriek, or csg should get it done easy.

 

I'd also personally go for canuckley, Kentuckley, and Bring The Ruckley if you want to do 3:3. Those beers are wicked tasty.

 

What's it take to land an ORVW or Lot b?
Would BAA be a good anchor? Thinking plus ADWTD DO + ADWdM++

 

Having recently looked into this, here's my opinion:

1. ORVW is close in value to Lot B, but the latter trades higher.
2. Whiskey has a "tax" when trading beer "up" for it.
3. Due to #2, BAA (assuming most recent) will get you "about half" the way there, on average. DO will get you another 20-25%. de Molen another 10ish% I think.
4. I think you'll need another ADWTD DO typed plus to land one of these - "on average".

Disclosure: I'm not fluent in whiskey, just beer. But from recent research, this is what I believe to be true, and what I would be basing my own trade off if I had your bottles and was seeking one of these 2 bourbons.
