Trade Value Thread (TVT) Quarter 4 2018

Anyone see A&T move recently? Wondering if an offer of EoC b2 + Westly (‘17 or ‘18) for A&T+ is short or overboard (depending on the plus). I figure these two bottles would garner more interest than either EoC++ or Westly+++ (not looking to do an international trade so factor that in as well)

 

I've seeen some big offers for A&T not close. BBT+, Zenne B2 +, etc. I think, generally speaking, that the easiest way to pull an A&T is to either have a big rare bottle that can essentially pull it alone (even if someone needs to be cajoled with pluses), or totally going over.

To me A&T is (I think) valued lower than Magic, but Magic is way easier to trade for. So, in terms of "relative" trade value, A&T is actually harder to pull at the 'pegged value'. There may have even been a Magic 1:1 for A&T not close that I am forgetting.

There's just not a lot of bottles.

Yeah, honestly if I had good trade ammo, I would have traded for them already lol. Kinda thankful that I don't now. I guess the Noir is still good? But according to that article it looks like it only got distro in Oklahoma unfortunately...

Could a mix 6 of recent Jreams pull a non BA AC bottle?

 

I think so. I know a guy who traded non ba AC for that.

 

'17 Rye Antead + '17 Bourbon Antead + FOb3 + FOb4 -- for -- '18 BA Abraxas?

 

I'm not critically well acquainted with the ANTEADs, but I feel like there are probably two opinions on this:

1) Some will say you're over, that the ANTEAD's value is about 1/2 VR for each, and given the (historically) low value of BAA 18 (compared to past years), this is over.

I am more of the opinion that:

2) ANTEAD's are around what I said in #1, but given that you are trading up, and given the recent drop in value of FO, that this feels like an "appropriate" trading up offer. I don't think you're going over by enough to really give it a second thought.

Curious to see other's input as well.

 

If you're on the ANTEAD side, I'd say you're over but if you're happy go for it. I think you'd close easily. I basically view the FOb4 as a nice extra in this compared to the others.

If you're on the BA Abraxas side, I think you may have trouble getting someone to give up the Rye ANTEAD especially. There is more than twice as much bourbon out there than rye. The rye was 1pp and sold out instantly online. The bourbon was 2pp.

 

Value wise it's fair but it's tough when you are trading 2 nearly identical beers in the Rye/Bourbon and FOb3/b4. I would recommend more variety if possible.

 

Anybody have a read on the relative value of Biere Rose from de Garde? I have no idea on the value of most de Garde. I've been offered that for a Black Gold '18 1:1. I'd be on the BG side, fair trade?

 

Thoughts on Transient beers (specially their stouts) value wise compared to Black Gold? Not too familiar with Transient stuff, just trying to get a feel their trading value. For instance Kentuckley, Canuckley, etc...

 

Opinions on what BL bottles (all from this year) will land HoG?

Probably going to need like 4 of these with Paisley Cave being the highest in value at about 1/3rd of HoG probably? You might want to find a bigger anchor.
