Paisley Cave x2 for Nath + ?

 

Wondering where VSOJ lands ratio-wise to Black Gold. Probably should have asked before posting in the IP forum, but here we are. Does a Black Gold + CWXX + something like Mexican Cake for a 4 pack of VSOJ + 2x Code Switch sound fair?

 

As someone that can't go, I'd say it's very fair. But, if you're concerned, you can just hold off to see how things sell tonight (sell out vs. not) and/or see if people buy the code switch.

Which side adds a plus and what kind of plus?: Bourbon Barrel Dark Lord + newest batch of Mornin' Delight for Maman 2018? 2:1

 

IMO the Maman side, and a big plus. BADL is still very highly regarded, and seems harder and harder to come by these days.

 

I'm not very well versed in bourbon - would a bottle of Elmer T. Lee get me close to a VR? MDb5? Is it even close?

 

It also depends which year BADL you’re referring to. I think 16>17>18 (HDNQ) Trade value wise. I think it’s taste preference to a vintage and bottle count has to do with it.

Maman does trade higher than its secondary value. On paper, I think the Maman side should add something in the range of FO b4 for 17, and 18 BADL. And something in the realm of prop 17/Rare 15 range for a 16 BADL.

And for the life of me I can’t understand why more people are not ISO MD 18. It was hot for a week and recently I haven’t seen much movement. I’ve only heard great things.

And as for someone who holds a Maman. The combo does not move the needle for me. May be “wrong set of eyes” but Maman is a better beer imo than any BADL or any batch MD combined.

I traded away an MDb5 for ET Lee. I think you could get a VR. ETL is almost impossible to find in the wild. If I had a VR I’d jump on that trade.

 

For you California people (or anyone else). How does the value of FO compare to Number Crunch?

I'm guessing it's similar, depending on the FO batch.

 

I don't know that I'd go as far as pulling a VR. Secondary on ETL is around 110. I know the bourbon tax and all, but it seems like a stretch.

 

NC is getting a lot harder to find. The secondary price hasn’t moved much, but people are not trading them as much.

The secondary on NC is like .75 VR and on FO b4 it’s like .25 VR. However, I don’t think three FO b4 would pull a NC. Mostly because anyone who still has NC definitely has FO b4.

The secondary value is right in line with FO b3 and a plus or FO b2 1:1, but I doubt those trades would close.

 

Yeah NC is basically a much more limited FO variant. Should try to trade something else for NC because anyone with NC would probably rather have more NC than another FO. Both great beers but FO is easier to get if you're the person that was able to obtain NC.

 

I literally cant trade Tree House hops for anything decent anymore. A year ago at this time, if I had put Julius, Green and Haze up for trade......I could have gotten basically whatever top 250 I wanted (outside of the top 20 probably). Now? Ive post 3 different times looking for different things, none ranked all that high.....ive gotten close to 200 views on those 3 ISO's and not even a single message of interest.

Not the season. I always look for TH hops in the spring and summer time. In the winter it's all about stouts, for me at least.

 

I’ll bite.

A couple of your recent ISOs, particularly Number Crunch and Midnight Still, are (as you probably know) both very limited relative to TH hops and rated quite high. This isn’t 2016 where hops trade for limited BA stouts. A lot of people that frequent these trading forums have tried TH by now and since they’ve upped production certain things are easier to acquire. If you think you “literally can’t trade treehouse hops for anything decent anymore” you should maybe just stop trading. That being said, I’m surprised you got no bites when ISO prairie if you were asking close to $4$.

 

I traded a Black Gold for a FOb4 and a solid plus recently. so I was thinking a BG would be equal value to a NC? Since NC>FOb4
