I never participated in the reddit forum. Hell, never visited reddit for anything. Can you, perhaps, explain what this thread is supposed to be about/do, give some examples, etc.?
The general idea was that people could post potential trade ideas and other more experienced traders would try to help educate them on values of beers and understand if the trades were fair or realistic. They tried to make sure that people would post specific trades to avoid "auctions" where people would post their beers to get the most they could for them.
Ah, so if I understand this, it's like an open forum (where people can comment), but it's "real" in that these items are "really up for trade" for whatever the person has ISO/FT in the thread. The idea, being though, that you're open for feedback. Cool. I certainly don't dislike the idea.
Exactly! A way to test the waters first and for new traders to throw options out. Mostly was just a general forum for a discussion about trading and to keep people honest
That is pretty much the idea. Seemed to work pretty well I think. I really liked it when I began trading and still used it to help gauge values on beers and to get other people's thoughts on trades. Many times it opened up trades without officially posting them.
Well I will put this up again next Tuesday--I think it would be nice to have a running dialogue about this and hopefully it catches on!
So...it's basically a weekly thread to discuss completed trades and help others. I'm OK with this so long as $ doesn't enter the conversation. Feel free to start it up next Tuesday (with an intro) and we'll see how it goes.
