I have recently got these in my possession through a beer trade overseas. And I have no clue what they are worth or whether they are drain pours (haha, i hope not). Any help at all on what they are worth would be greatly appreciated. Dont know what im going to do with them yet, but just am curious. @AlexFields @PerHops @stakem , maybe one of you experts can shed some light on this for me? Thanks guys.
I say drink those babies. Could be an interesting and unique experience. Wish I had some real input, I've never had any Fantome older than 3 or 4 years
Nice find. Definitely worth a lot to the right people. Most likely way over the hill, but some of us really don't care.
If you're near the Philly area, I have a tasting group that I imagine would be quite interested in seeing what some of those bottles are like. Could be fun to have you join us for a share if you're interested!
Vintage Fantome are always hard to gauge since they're so obscure and usually have huge bottle variations? What are you looking for?
I don't want this to turn into an auction. So now that what I'm about to post, I do not want anyone to send me a "better deal". Seriously don't, I will not respond. My question is, is it fair for both parties to trade Armand set for most of these bottles?
So you traded for them to flip them and you have no idea what they are worth? What did you trade for them?
@King_Ranch I was in beligum and helped out a guy big time. So these were part of that. These were like extras for what I really wanted from him. It was a win.
So you are flipping generous as hell extras. Got it, it was a win apparently. @AlexFields are you all over these? and if these were the extras, why not post the "good stuff" in the hauls thread? http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...of-your-latest-haul.136/page-826#post-2922195
These would trade for other very rare Fantomes. It's a weird niche market where the value is super high, but the people interested in trading for them are all Fantome nerds who mostly will have other Fantome to trade, so it's hard to trade this stuff for other equally rare stuff that isn't Fantome. Lambic is the one thing you're likely to get a fair deal with if you're patient and find the right person. What you're offering is much more rare, but much less broadly sought after, than an Armand'4 set. It's really impossible to say what is "fair" there since there's so little precedent and it's so subjective to who the traders are. But there's no way it wouldn't be at least fair and maybe extremely generous to ask for an Armand'4 set for all of these. I am super interested in all of these but don't have the ammo right now. The most I could offer would be like Fou or some moderately rare BA stouts which would be a lowball offer.
