i was checking some iso:ft threads and saw some offers that made me think "what the". why does it seem that a beer that has a smaller format bottle has less of a trade value? 12oz(two) vs 22oz

I don't get it either. With some rare exceptions, I'd rather have 2 12oz bottles over 1 22oz bottle every time.

their was a recent post for a 4pk of bn for a single hunaphu, last yr bn would have been 1:1 right?

im sure that all trades depend mostly on how bad you want something, and what you are willing to give up. But that seems a bit lopsided to me.

Perhaps the availability of the 4-pack of Black Note signifies a level of production that lowers its trading value (as compared to when it was only bottled in 750mL format)

That did seem generous. But it's not too far off $4$, as BN 4-packs could have been as low as $23 I think? And Huna has been $20 typically.

thats understandable, but we all know it does not change the contents.

You forget that the contents hardly matter in trade value...

Black Note four packs were roughly $25. I don't see why this is an issue. If you try breaking down four packs of BN, KBS, BCBS, HT then you sir are a dick.

is that the original price of bn 750s?

It probably has something to do with the format as well as the price and that every time there is a new release the calculus changes. In this case after the release of the 750s there was another release of 12 oz bottles that was unexpected. I think that right now the perception is that BN was much easier to get this year and that Bells release much much more than they have in the past. The saying goes past performance is not an indicator of future results.

are you worried about your bottle's trade value or the bottle your getting? If neither, why does it matter. It's not your trade. The best trades are when both sides are happy and neither one of the participants are scratching their heads at the end.

not really worried, just found it confusing and wanted some insight. all of my beers are consumed unless i have several bottles or have had them in the past.

not knockin you, I have "overtraded" for a beer that I absolutely wanted and didn't care what I gave up for it. But I also have been gifted one of my bucket list beers (Cable Car, thank you Leschkie, you will get yours soon). So I have been on both ends. As long as you create great trading relationships with regular partners, and you put together boxes in your trades in hopes of creating a long term trading partner, you will be A-OK.

It's somewhat taboo for those posting the FTs. Ex: FT: 1x KBS and 1x HT ISO: Cherry Rye.
