Trader Beware

    Ok, I'll start this off that I am not calling him a bad trader as he does not have any of my beer. Dmcaz and I agreed to a trade on August 18th involving some fairly hard to obtain beer. Being somewhat close I arranged an IP at my cousins house on the Southside of Chicago.
    On Sept. 5th I got the beer down to my cousins house and let Dan know, he responded to my text right away saying he'd head over there in a week or 2. Sept. 7th I heard from him with a short text. Sept. 12th I asked him about a timeline, no response, Sept 23rd asked if he still wanted to make the trade, no response. Tuesday I asked him for an update here via BM and no response again yet he's logged on several times since. I did send him a text letting him know this was happening as well. Again, not a trader who stole beer, just a trader that dropped off the face of the earth about this trade.

    I've now been on this site and trading for 6 years and this is the first post like this for me and gave it much thought before posting. I feel like if you enter into trade talks with him he may walk with no communication. I know there will be the "Move on" replies and I have but felt it needed to be said.

    All I wanted was an update (busy with school/working too much) or a go fuck yourself, I've reconsidered.

    Hmm , this is a grey area, but you agreed on trade, got beer to agreed upon place and he never showed. I would say this could be the equivalent of mailing the beer with someone else delivering , instead you delivered it yourself. My verdict is.......

    He is a Bad Trader!

    I feel like all he had to do was send you a message like "something came up and unfortunately can't do the trade anymore" and this whole thread could have been avoided. It only takes a few seconds to do...

    Sorry guys I wrote this with a 9 month old in my arms, that's most of my time now. Dmkaz.

    Evilcatfish, I agree and that would've been better than nothing at all.

    I am Dmkaz's El Catador Trustee and was his Peg's proxy for Batch 300.

    Dmkaz and I had been coordinating a shipment of goodies that I picked up last weekend. This was me sending him his stuff, so I had no skin in the game. Dmkaz ended up getting super busy with work and wasn't able to even talk to me so that I could send him his things. If he didn't have the time to coordinate "free" (he had already paid for it) beer, I'm not surprised he didn't have time to trade. He got in touch with me on Wednesday night, and all is good go now.

    Also, I asked Dmkaz if I could trade him for a Batch 300 I had just picked up, and he ought right gave me one. That was pretty generous!

    I'd be frustrated too if an agreed upon trade wasn't followed through with. Just vouching for Dmkaz's busyness and generosity. Things happen, so I wouldn't tar and feather him over it.

    So much of this kinda nonsense is so easily preventable. It takes 30 seconds to BM someone, nobody is too busy that they can't send a simple message.

    I feel bad for all the people who get so busy at work that they work 24 hour days and don't have time to even send an email/text. I appreciate my job a lot more now.

    I went ahead and responded to OP directly. I was away on business for about a week and a half and wasn't really on BA all that much.

    We set up an IP as stated, but didn't set a real timeline. Either way, hopefully this all works out.

    Good to see the in question trader show up, it is amazing how these threads bring the in question traders back to BA!

    No one is too busy to send a measly text/email with status if you enter into a trade agreement.

    I understand "things" come up that may delay a trade, but the only legitimate reason for not communicating is if you are somehow incapacitated by illness/injury or you're dead.

    You mean the ones that get so busy to send an email/text but not too busy to sign into BA and check out the forums? Nice.

    I don't want a witch hunt here. My Catador trustee let me know about this post and what was going on. And no, I normally don't check BA *that* often. I don't want a witch hunt here. I got a hold of OP and I hopefully we've worked something out.

    Actually it has not saved the day. Dan has again gone MIA, but continues to take offers for the agreed upon trade beer.

    Has been AWOL since Sept. 29th and after 5 attempts to even get any response has come up empty I feel this needs to be revived since I have NO FAITH this trade will actually come to be.
