    Hey Guys,

I set up a trade with another BAer and he shipped through USPS(I have no clue why). It was scheduled for delivery today, but didn't show. The tracking has never been updated. Is this just he post office sucking at their jobs or do you think it got confiscated? I messaged him about it but haven't hear anything back.

Has something like this happened to anyone else? How did it turn out?

Had it shipped to my office, mail already came. It may still show up but I have never had anything delived after they already dropped the mail off.

I've definitely had packages from USPS show up later than the regular mail. All hope is not lost.

I hope it comes. I don't want the other BAer to get into any trouble. Also, I kind of want my beer

There is still plenty of hope. Don't give up just yet. I am setting up a trade this week with a family member. I politely told them "please do not ship USPS". I am going to make that a part of any trade communication. Some people just don't know. Good luck and cheers!

My mail carrier always drops off packages separately from letters.

True, I just get anxious for my beer mail. I'm like a kid on Christmas!

I had a package came to me through USPS. It was poorly packed and one of the bottles broke and leaked EVERYWHERE. The local office placed it in a plastic mail carrier and handed it to me when I came and picked up (missed the initial delivery attempt). It could've been the fact that the broken bottle was an NG Wild Sour, which made the package smell really sweet so they didn't suspect alcohol, or it could be that they didn't really care.

To the OP, I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time you've ever had a USPS package delayed and tracking info incorrect. USPS tracking status is the absolute worst! Good luck with it, but I think you'll get it in a day or 2.

I know that feeling!!!!! Cheers! To add to my earlier post, my carrier also drops of boxes after delivering letters.

Sorry to hear about the NG Sour, those beers are great. That's cool they didn't seem to mind. Thanks for the support!

My real concern is that the other BAer doesn't get into trouble to shipping it. I know if it didn't get delivered he would do good by the trade. Just don't want him to get into trouble. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens!

USPS shipping has been discussed at length many times. The reality of it is that no one has ever gotten into actual legal trouble for doing it (not that anyone knows of anyway). My guess is at worst, they'd just discard the package and not waste time and resources going after casual exchanges between friends.

I read some of the prior post about the topic, and that is what I took from them too. I figure it will all work out in the end. Seems like these type of things tend to. I just wanted to see if there were any recent hands on dealings with this stuff that I could use as guidance. I try to learn from others mistakes, as well as my own......but prefer to learn from others  .

usps tracking is awful. i had a package (not beer) marked as 'delivered' that didn't arrive until several hours later. i thought someone had stolen it off my porch.

I had a trader ship USPS recently and package made it fine, but I let him know to use UPS/FedEx next time. And yes, their tracking system can be a bit goofy sometimes with packages showing up early or late without updates showing online

I suggest starting a usps trader list, sorta a corollary (or addendum) to the bad trader list.

Ironic that USPS seems to get packages to their destination as "wrong/not right" as it is to use them but UPS and FedEx have threads about their bullshit. Easier to get "wrong/not right" things done with people who don't give a shit I guess

Haha with all the talk of FedEx bullshit lately maybe USPS is a better option for small pkg.'s.

I too have had good luck with the few USPS boxes sent me. In fact, had 3 prob.'s with boxes sent me, all FedEx.

    I use UPS.

OP: update if this made it okay.
