So I'm looking to try both of these beers at some point. Once I head back to Iowa I'll have some more Toppling Goliath to trade with so that should help, but I wanted to see if I could land Heady Topper or Pliny the Elder with what I currently have. I have 2 Abrasive Ales and 2 Golden Nuggets to trade along with a few Prairie Bombs if they'll help. Would that be enough to land 2 of either of these? The biggest thing I never know is how often those beers are distributed and how hard they are to get for people in the distributed areas. I don't want to start a thread looking to trade and offend someone if I'm not offering enough. :/ Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Heady is distributed every week to several places within about 20 miles of Waterbury. It's good enough and popular enough that it can fetch some more limited beers. However, it's also accessible enough (if you're in the area and willing to make the rounds), that people are often willing to trade it for other limited shelf IPAs. It's totally reasonable to expect that you'd find somebody willing to go $4$ with Heady or Pliny for Abrasive or anything hoppy from TG. Bomb isn't bad to have on hand either as trade bait. Given what you'll be able to offer, I think you should be able to find what you're looking for.
