I am super new here but curious as to what RR(recent releases) and DLD(2013) will get for some vermont beers? Heady, HF, Lawson's?

Really wanna try mentioned beers not looking for whales.

    Thanks

You can easily trade some Pliny for Heady, and some Pliny and Sours will land you Lawson's stuff. HF is a different beast - it all depends on the beer and bottle limits. Stuff like Clara and Everett (high bottle limit of 8/person) as well as 750ml growlers are pretty easy to trade for. Stuff with lower bottle limits like Geneology of Morals, Phenomenology, Madness & Civilization, Civil Disobedience, etc... are much more coveted, although you can probably land some with a DL or a FFAC.

Just have to find the right trader and know what you want.

welcome, my friend! throw out an ISO in the trade forum and see! pliny for heady is a regular swap, so that should get you started. lawson's and hf are tougher, because they are obscurely located and (lawson's) obscurely distributed. you won't know til you try though! good luck!

Thanks for the feed back. I have been trading with old buddies from the midwest and it has opened up a floodgate for seeking out great beers.

Lawson's has been brewing a lot of Double Sunshine recently, and selling it more frequently at their Farmers' Markets, so it should be easier to get than it used to be. Totally worth it too. Such an amazing beer.

I'll totally trade you for one then. I should have some new HF stuff this fall.

He is brewing more, but won't be at the Waitsfield farmers market until Sept. 21 and I don't think he plans to have it there (at least going by his blog). Double shipments all this month but the guy at Warren Store said they sold 23 cases in 3 hours last week (sold out). So still plenty hard to get despite the double up.

Put up an ISO and check it out, CA stuff seems like a good match for the VT area. VT stuff isn't rare, few whales, just remote. HT should be an easier beer to get.

It may not be rare, but it is still plenty hard to get for anyone who doesn't live in the area. Took a trip up on a Saturday this month and Heady Topper was completely sold out, which seems pretty typical for them. So for those of us who can't get there on a weekday it is very difficult to get.

I took vacation time to go, Monday and Wed are canning days, by Saturday forget it for all 3 I would believe. Lawsons comes out on a Thurs I believe, and Wed /Thurs is the best days to get to HF. Wed I hit HF first on my way into the area from Ft Drum, then Thurs morning I went to Achhemist, and Warren Store. Even if your local the running around is a pain in the ass, HF is 30 miles north of Waterbury, the last few miles on a dirt road, and Warren maybe 30 miles south, even if you local nothing is really close. It's not rare it's just remote, and VT is a big state, and east west major roads seem to be a rarity.
