I was thinking that it would be great if we could sort Trading posts by the location of posters. So, I would be able to find say fellow Maryland posters for IP trades or look for traders from a specific state. I realize you can put the state in the search bar, but it only returns posts/titles that include those words. However, this doesn't necessarily give you all relevant posts that you would be looking for. For instance, searching for Maryland doesn't return this thread, which is extremely relevant to my interests. I do realize that you can search for specific beers that you are either looking for or have to trade, but sometimes you just want to browse or perhaps look for a possible IP trade. But even then, you would have to still click on every result or every avatar to see where the trade is originating from (i.e. state). Hopefully, others agree with my suggestion. Would it be possible to make it so that the search results return not just the text in the titles/posts, but also include the location underneath your avatar and username?

@Todd, I really thought this belonged in Feedback & Help, this is feedback. Unless you think it should be vetted here first.

Well, that's definitely better than nothing. I hadn't noticed. I haven't gone through the official trade channels in a while.

There is an IP trading forum and it was definitely a huge step forward, but being able to filter by distance (based on zip code) would be another quantum leap in functionality.

I would just settle for extending displayed personal info to include a city. Right now when it says "Wisconsin" I have no idea if someone lives three miles from me in Madison or 300 miles from me in Ashland.

I think this is being planned for and would be enough. I do feel that I asked "Where in PA are you?" quite a bit on private messages for more than just trading. Beyond that, I really don't think it's necessary to have a sortable/searchable function for the IP Trade forum because what people usually do is scan for region, say "Mid-Atlantic" for me, then the beer FT/ISO (sometimes I scan for this first), and most threads have a city/location prefix anyway. I'd doubt members would go back into their profile give out their zip code.
