I've now bottled 4 or 5 different beers and I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a trade and wondering if there are standards or etiquette around trading home brewed beer. Not looking to do anything fancy or crazy... something like 1:1... 4 or 5 different styles of my beer for 4 or 5 different styles of yours. Maybe throw in a few local "extras" for fun. Would also like someone who's open to critiquing each others brew in the spirit of self improvement.
I don't think there's any particular etiquette outside of normal beer trading. Whenever I send homebrew, I like to include a commercial beer that I think is similar in taste/style (if applicable).
Trading homebrew is like trading regular beers. Except they're homebrew. No biggie, just make a deal with someone and abide by the usual trading standards and you're fine. You might include a homebrew in a BIF too. I've been in one homebrew BIF so far, and it was great. I like to trade homebrew too, although right now I only have one batch available, so I'm probably not the one for this particular trade.
I don't feel my homebrews are up to the standard where I want to mail them anywhere. In time perhaps... But I would just do: FT: My Homebrew ISO: Your Homebrew
