I've seen two threads this week offering up '09 Abyss.

While I know us old-timers have vivid memories of the infections that plagued this vintage of a beloved beer, those newer to the game might not know the risk they're taking (I haven't had a good bottle since about six months after it was released, & I've had or tried several).

So what, if anything, should be done? Is this strictly buyer beware & it's on the trader to do their research? Reach out to the trader to see if it's an innocent mistake? Ignore it & be on my merry way? I know how I feel about getting infected beers & I'd hate someone else to fall prey to them out of simply not knowing the risks.

if it is a known infected beer and the trader knows it, the trader is a douche

Reach out to the trader. This is actually the 1st I know of this (blush). If s/he is an innocent idjit like me, the information will be appreciated & used, ie delete the offer. If the info is ignored or you get snark add one to you DNT list.
