Trading references

That's a brand new brave approach to trading. What did your guts tell you when you entered the trade with me?

 

You checked out OK. I usually look at post history and if it's someone who posts dumb shit (like JoJo, who tried to trade with me several times) I pass.

Just prior to the crash I'd just happened to move all my trade history to my site. It worked pretty well, all the names linked to their BA profile page and my BIFs linked to the boxes I'd sent out.

It's really tough to want to jump back into trading when so many seem to have done so little to post references

 

If you want to see someone's references and cannot find them in their profile, just ask and send messages to however many of those references the person provides.

 

I know I can but would prefer to have it listed, it just makes me feel better about starting a trade.

 

Well yeah, its much easier if its just listed, but not everyone has copied over their profiles maybe. I'm not sure. I just use Google Docs for mine, it works well.

 

I just quickly cross check references on people's profiles. For example, if I'm looking to trade with somebody I've never seen around with 5-10 trades under their belt, odds are one of those 5-10 people are somebody who has been around the block on BA. If the vet also lists the noob on his profile, then it's confirmation that the trade was legit.

 

I use this method quite a bit as well.

 

I'm glad I kept a spreadsheet. I just put the link in my new profile information.
