I'm new to BA and need some help with relative trading values of some of the top beers. I was going roughly by the 250 rankings and it seems I was way off.

To start, here's what I have:
    - 4x Pliny the Elder (all bottled very recently)
    - 7x 2013 BCBS
    - 4x Westvleteren 12
    - 1x Supplication
    - 1x Consecration

And here's what I'm looking to try:
    - Chocolate Rain
    - Maple Bacon Coffee Porter
    - Speedway Stout - Vietnamese Coffee
    - Heady Topper
    - BCBS Variants (Rare, Prop, Vanilla, Coffee, etc.)
    - DB Huna
    - Black Magick PvW
    - Vanilla Bean Dark Lord

I realize some of these are pretty tough to trade for (especially those toward the bottom of the list). Any help in figuring out how to make a fair offer would be much appreciated -- I realize it's some combination of ranking, rarity, and price ($4$) but any other tips would be great. For example, is there a thread that has some sort of ranking system (ie tier 1, 2, 3... beers and relative values)?

I'd say with what you have you'll be able to land some Heady, and maybe Chocolate Rain, Viet Speedway, or BCBS Coffee if you find the right eyes. The others are likely out-of-reach without better ammunition.

The best tip I can give is to watch the ISO:FT forum and see what others are asking for for the beers you're seeking, and whether they're successful in getting it.

One relatively good way to gauge rarity/demand is to go to a beers page and check the ratio of wants to gots. If very little people have it, and many people want it, it's going to be really difficult to land.

    For example:

For PvW Black Magick- 34 people have "got" it. 767 people "want" it. That means it will be tough to get. The demand is way, way high.

For Bourbon County- 3,584 people have "got" it. 1,936 "want" it. The ratio is skewed the other way.

Some of the beers you are looking for traditionally some of the hardest beers to land. Bourbon Vanilla Dark Lord especially is probably the most difficult thing to land you are looking for, for many reasons. One, its $50. Two, you have to win a lottery at Dark Lord Day to even get a chance to buy it. Three, it's supposed to be quite good. Four, a very small amount of bottles of it are made, usually under 1,000 each year. To get BVDL, you need to bring the big guns. Stuff you can get on the shelf will absolutely not do it, unfortunately.
