Taking the train this weekend to visit Chicago and drink a bunch of their tasty beers! I've heard I can bring beers on the train. Is this true has anyone done this before.

I've taken the train from Detroit (Dearborn) to Chicago on New Years Eve, and people brought cases.
No luggage, just cases. It was a blast and I'd recommend it to anyone. The car we started in started partying, at boarding, about 6 am. It became like a bar. We got up and walked through an empty dining car to the next passenger car and everyone was sleeping. It was weird, from party to slumber. Moved on through and found the baggage car, went downstairs and found the people with the cases down there hanging out with the loading door wide open drinking and watching the scenery pass, felt like a hobo in a movie. One of the best times I've ever had traveling. Need to do that again!

Took amtrak from Port Huron to Chicago and basically if you could carry it on, you could drink it. They did sell a few goose island regulars, bud, and bud light.
Wifi, no seat belts, drink whatever you bring. Taking the train is the way to go.
