I'm having an issue with Transient. When I signed up to be a member, we were promised 2 barrel aged sours and 2 barrel aged other beers. On top of those, a member party. Because of covid they can't do the party. I figured. They are offering an extra beer in place of not having the party. None of that is my issue. My issue is that none of the member beers were sours like promised. Its not like they aren't making them. I thought of every excuse why and can't figure it out. Why not go through with what your members were promised before they paid to become members. It bothers me because they aren't even addressing the issue. From what I understand Transient is pulling alot of stuff lately. After last year saw one of the barrel aged sours a member exclusive, I was so excited to see what they did this year. And now nothing. They haven't emailed me back. I am kind of pissed. Don't I have the right to be? If they said something like covid made you get a crappy barleywine instead of a BA sour, I would take that. But no acknowledging of the issue. Kind of lame. This is my first membership with them. Please let me know what you would do. I still love Transient, but that was a big part of the perks of the membership.

I'd probably call if they didn't respond to an email. Get the man on the phone.

Not sure what to tell you but I’d like to add that their hoppy beers have really shit the bed over the past year or so.

Wasn’t there an issue with them having a club in IL then moving to MI as well?

my grandma always used to say, “give a man a barrel aged pastry stout and he’ll be happy. Give him two, and he’ll be happier still. However, should you be foolish and give him a third, he will turn both Wylde and Sour, and you would do well not to fraternize with him or his accursed ilk.”

Not sure we are going to get to the bottom of this here, but I’d suggest if you don’t receive a satisfactory response(and I don’t expect that you will) that you don’t renew your membership.

Too bad those extra dollars they charged for 4pks years ago didn’t go towards improving their product and improving their customer relations

I was a member last year and let my membership lapse because it’s not worth the $$$. The biggest benefit is on Buckley Day, which is almost worth the scratch alone to not have to lose a whole day waiting in line for bottles. otherwise they treat their members like a burden and do the very bare minimum.

I don’t know many membership programs that have generated a positive response. Particularly those that charge a membership fee for the right to buy beer are bothersome.

To the OP, I would be happy to buy and swap you some Transient sours and take those stouts off your hands in return.

I think Transient's membership is kind of a no brainer if you like their beer. The membership is $100 and you get 4 x $20+ beers included in that, ability to have your bottles held and picked up by a proxy (important for people who don't live within a couple hours of bridgeman), early access to releases, and then normally a no price of admission member party with free pours/food.

You're not getting any ginormous perks, but it kinda pays for itself.

Hmmm. Me and my drinking buddies were just drinking and talking about how we collectively felt they had turned a corner for the better since the shooting. Seems like they got their mojo back. Poppin Pastels over here.
