Moving from extract to PM. Looking for suggestions on equipment upgrades to make great beer, including what method I should use to sparge?

    Got a bayou burner sp10
20 qt and 10 qt brew pot
    large stir spoon.
    Other basic brew equipment.
Looking to purchase a wort chiller as well.

    Looking for some clarity.

Get a kettle large enough to do full wort boils. For 5 gallon batches this means a kettle big enough to boil 6+ gallons of wort in, i.e. an 8+ gallon kettle (I'd recommend 10 gallon).

As far as sparging methods, for partial mash I'd recommend mashing in a bag and doing a batch sparge by lifting the bag out of the mash, letting it drain, and then lowering it into a second kettle with your sparge water, stir, soak, lift, drain.

I just did my first PM 2 weeks ago and it really is not that big of deal.As always Homebrew42 delivers sound advice! I used this method on a Sasion and it turned out a higher quality product then extract! I did go out and buy a bag big enough to do Brew in a bag which may be over kill but it worked out great! Also pull the trigger and get a chiller !
