Pretty sure Tom will get some. Would be nice to sip on one of these at the back bar on a chilly night.

    Enjoy

That's a huge mischaracterization of the tone of my comment.

    Roughly translated from the article:
    .

There's nothing about the description that wouldn't make it a tripel.

The thing that strikes me is the year they are claiming they made their strong blonde - 1920. That seems really early. Westmalle's "Superbier" goes back to 1933/4. Witkap Pater (the direct predecessor) supposedly goes back to 1932. I've seen it said that monks brewed a strong pale beer as early as 1931 (note that none of these were called "tripel" at the time... including this Rochefort beer). Rochefort is claiming they made a strong blond in 1920! @patto1ro

"We had been considering making a new blonde beer for a long time, but now the time was right, one hundred-ish years after the "Blonde extra-forte"

It was a joke referencing all of the poop talk.
Thought that seemed obvious from the other poop references in my post.

I thought that might have been the case but couldn't tell (my post triggered that part of the thread)... I should have presented that as a possibility.

Can we refocus on the greatness of this news!!!!

Any idea when it might hit the states?

    specifically Texas?

    more specifically San Antonio?

After making that post, I kept thinking about how I miss being able to buy the modern version of that beer over here... the downside of US craft beer. :frowning2:

Is Witkap even available in the States anymore, I haven't seen it in ages?

R10 is one of my favorite beers in the world, so I hate to change the subject. But now that I have Tongo's undivided attention, I wanted to say a belated thanks to you for organizing the virtual Oktoberfest. So much fun.

We can make this “on subject”.

A Rochefort Triple tasting should be a thing if we can all get our hands on some...

Also just noticed they spelled it “Triple” and not “Tripel”.

The spelling of 'triple' is one of the first things I noticed too

Even if I can't find it, it will be fun looking for it. Plus, I can pick up some 10, 8, and 6 as backup.

Belgian beer isn't my area of expertise, history-wise. I just like drinking it.
