Hey everyone, new here but heard it's a great place to learn about new places and beers to try out. Live in CT and flying out to California next week and going to be there almost two weeks. Flying into San Francisco and making our way eventually down to San Diego. What are some definite must visit breweries/shops and must try beers while we're out there? Really appreciate it!

In San Francisco Cellar Maker is solid and good hours. If you like sours Rare Barrel in Berkeley but they are open Thur - Sunday. Next to Rare Barrel is Field Works great IPA and nice vice. Berkeley near the university is a cool place to walk around and grab a piece of pizza as well. You can hit the following places in a day and its a very easy drive Laginitias in Petaluma, Russian River in Santa Rosa and Racer 5 in Healdsburg. If you have time and a driver go to Beer Craft in Rohnert Park right off the freeway and they will have SARA, Cellar Maker and a few locals on tap as well as a great selection of bottles (they are 10 minutes south of Russian River). Not sure how you are getting to San Diego so not sure where to tell you to go as you may be taking the scenic route. In San Diego Society is a must, AleSmith has their stuff together and probably one of the nicer places to drink a beer. I like to eat at Ballast Point and their tap list is huge. Hope you have a nice trip.

It's hard to respond to a post like this and not come across as a complete grouch, but please do a bit of research first (search box is in the upper right) and then come back with specific questions. You're far from the first person to ever make this or similar trips and there's a lot of good information already out there.
