In March I'll be traveling to Chattanooga from Ohio.

What beers should I try to hunt down? I would like to buy some to drink now, and some to cellar.

I prefer, BA stouts, porters, hefe, wheats.

In Ohio we have the 12% laws, do they have those in Tenn or no?

    Thanks guys!

Not a lot of great beers in the state due to taxation amounts, etc. You probably get a much better selection in Ohio, however some places to have a pint and good food are Brewhaus and The Flying Squirrel.

    Safe travels. Cheers!

It is a short trip to Beverage World in Fort Oglethorpe Ga. Best to make the trip over there. If you google their phone number and explain why you are coming, they have always been good to let me know any interesting stuff they may have.

I would recommend this. There isnt much in chattanooga beer wise. Riverside beverage downtown is the best in chattanooga, hutton and smith is the best brewery downtown and world of beer is the best place to get a beer downtown. I would highly recommend going to beverage world, its about five minutes over the state line and Georgia gets much better distribution. The guys at bw are extremely helpful and friendly, much better than something you will find in Chattanooga

Awesome, thanks for the help guys! (even if some of you are GA fans and I'm a GT guy )

Looks like we'll be going through Lexington KY as well. I'd be willing to drive a mile or two off the highway if there's a spot anyone knows of.

If you're driving through Knoxville you should stop at McScrooge's and pick up a growler of Yazoo Barrel-aged Sue and a bottle of Blackstone Black Belle. They have a decent selection overall but those are two good ones you won't find anywhere else.
