I'm flying to Dallas for the weekend and would like to bring a few bottles back, but I'm unsure what to look for. I live in Kansas City so I get stuff from both the KS and MO distributors. According to SeekABrew and my own experiences, the stuff I can get in TX but not at home includes: Uinta, Dogfish Head, Ballast Point, Deep Ellum, Peticolas, Santa Fe, Jester King, etc. I'm not sure if some of the local places bottle or not, but I would really like to find some Jester King if possible. I have yet to see it but maybe I've been to the wrong places. On my last trips I went to: Mr G's in Plano, Bear Creek, and then Hall's in Bedford/Colleyville. I've seen Spec's mentioned here in another thread; would that be a good stop? It'll be ~15m from where I'm staying in North Dallas. Thanks in advance everybody!
It looks like DFW got some JK from Flood last week (Petit Prince, Wytchmaker, El Cedro), so you might find it this weekend. Both Hall's and Lonestar had it last Friday. Availability at Spec's will depend on which one you go to. The larger ones are probably your best bet.
You should be able to find all of those in any decent beer section. For JK, you might find some of the mainline bottles like Noble King, La Petite Prince, Wytchmaker. You may get lucky and find El Cedro or a Das Wunderkind. If you want any of the sours (other than Das), you will definitely have to arrange that with someone who's been at the brewery. With the peach release, Zwanze, and apricot release the last 3 weeks, you might find a trading partner.
For bottle shops, my two best bets thus far (wife's family lives down there so I'm there several times a year) have been Hall's (interesting stuff like Adelbert's) and Lonestar Beverage in Carrollton.
