First off, I apologize for this question in advance. I've tried to do my homework, but being unfamiliar with the geography makes it challenging.

Traveling to Indy; I am staying at the Radisson by the airport. Is there a decent bottle shop and bar near by?

    Thanks in advance.

Was just in Indy yesterday and can't help with that one, (I didn't find anything to go to on that side) but it sure was fun for beer there. I hope you get a chance to explore and experience the goodness.

I was there a few weeks ago; stayed near mass Ave. The beer scene was nice, but the airport area is starting to feel like a s

Can't think of anything special by the airport. For bottles, look for a Payless, Crown or Big Red. I don't know of any bars near there though, or breweries. Uber is your friend I think.

Nothing near the airport. Hit the Crown Liquors downtown for bottles (Delaware and New York I believe) and then head down Mass Ave to the bars. Not sure when you are getting in but on Wednesday Ralston's is going to have Vanilla Rye, '12 BCBS and '13 BCBS on tap. A couple of doors down, Chatham Tap has a good selection and, as of two weeks ago, had BCBS and Black Note bottles (they sold me 2 Black Notes carry-out). Local breweries? Mostly a pass, but Sun King downtown is decent. Stick to the King's Reserve stuff.

Not super close, but Black Swan in Plainfield is a 10 minute drive and they have some decent/good beer and a nice small bourbon selection at the bar. But if you're already going to be in a car it only makes sense to drive 5 more minutes the other direction and be in the Downtown/Mass Ave/Fountain Square areas.

Any idea what time those beers will be tapped?

Heading that way myself this summer to tame the kids to an Indians game and the zoo. Where is the best place to buy local bottles, Either singles or mix sixes? Also is there any beers I HAVE to look out for while in the area? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also I notice most places seem to be closed on Sundays. Is there a place to buy beer sundays in the area?

Victory Field is a great place to catch a game. They serve Sun King to boot!

Sounds like you'll be staying downtown...Definitely hit up the Crown Liquor store at the corner of Delaware and Ohio Streets. One of the best selections in the city.

You can buy alcohol on Sundays, but only in restaurants, bars, and microbreweries. Some restaurants/bars have carry out as well, but it varies place to place.

Flat 12, Bier Brewery, Outliers, Tow Yard, and Fountain Square are all open on Sundays, and all are in the downtown area.

Grab 18th Street if Crown has it. Its usually behind the counter, so you will have to ask for it. Drinking their Under Crown DIPA right now and its quite nice.

I can't believe everyone is leaving out Triton. I think it's our best local brewery and their Headsplitter IIPA is one of the best I've tasted.

Do they bottle/can or just growler fill/draft?

Gotta disagree with you on that one. Triton is in the bottom 5 or so Indiana Breweries for me.
An aside, I can't believe Railsplitter is beating Daredevil's Lift Off in the IndyStar's beer bracket. That's a travesty.

No alcohol sales on Sunday. You can only have carryout from the manufacture: Breweries, brewpubs, wineries, distilleries, ect. Some bars/restaurants will do carryout but it is technically illegal.

I went ahead and picked up some Lift-Off today based on your recommendation.

I'm not sure which beers you've tried from Triton but I think Headsplitter, Soulcrusher and Railsplitter are all fantastic. I'm not sure what other breweries you think are better? Sun King? Upland? Flat 12? Fountain Square?
