I will be traveling to Key Largo in late April and was wondering what are the best places to buy and drink in the Key Largo area. I will be mostly at a rented house so would love some advice on best places to buy stuff to take home, but it we do venture out, maybe a few good places to drink at a bar.

A quick search on here a saw a few bars mentioned, but was hoping for a bit more. My thought is that Publix will be best, but maybe you can steer me toward a better spot?

We will also spend a night in Key West so if you know a good spot to belly up to there that would also be appreciated!

Finally, what should I be drinking while there? I know about Cigar City and Jai Ali, but anything else local or near local I should try? I love IPA's, stouts, porters, and a few wheats.

    Thanks for your help!

In Key Largo, check out Sharkey's Pub and Key Largo Conch House.

In Key West, visit The Porch, Krawl, and Joe's Tap Room (attached to Sloppy Joe's).

I'm not sure what is available craft-wise at liquor stores around but Publix usually has a decent (not great) selection of craft beers.

What you should drink that is local or near local? I recommend anything by Cigar City Brewing Co.

As for other breweries, if you see Saint Somewhere Brewery (comes in 750ml bottles for around $10) bottles anywhere I would grab them. They make some excellent saisons.

If you like wheats, try Key West Southernmost Wheat (from Florida Beer Co.). It is decent.

I would say that jcb7472 hit the spots I would recommend.

If you are looking for a bottle shop there really isn't anything good in the Keys. If you are flying into Miami then I would recommend stopping at the Pinecrest Total Wine or Sunset Corner to get bottles.

I'm actually going to Key Largo this weekend for their beer fest to work. I volunteered last year and it was a fun time (despite the rain). People in Key Largo are super nice and I look forward to hanging out and drinking beers with them again.
