Going to be in St. Louis next weekend and wondering if there is anything on the shelves I can't get in Chicago that is worth picking up. I won't be in the city long and have limited money and space to bring stuff back. I like just about anything but rather enjoy malt-complex beers as well as funky and sour stuff.
Make a stop at The Wine and Cheese Place as well as a handful of breweries including Perennial, Urban Chestnut, 2nd Shift Brewing, 4 Hands, Civil Life. Great source for additional info would be STL Hops
I'm heading there myself for the STL Microfest. Schlafly's AIPA just came out recently. If you haven't tried its, its one of their better offerings.
If you're staying downtown, be sure to checkout Bailey's Range which has a big list of local beers on tap. Newer local breweries that are bottling right now are Perennial, 2nd Shift, and 4 Hands. Wine & Cheese Place and Randall's on Jefferson are probably your top two places to get them. And to be clear, Schlafly AIPA is on tap, but they said bottles won't hit shelves until May 8.
