I preface with that I go 2-3 times a year. I won't go if Julius happens to not be available (which was the case when I was on Cape last summer). Beyond that, I am reading descriptions of what's available and heavily leaning towards ones that explain the beer and not some experience unless I know the beer or have had a friend vouch for it. Summer visits, I also really want TIny Treat, Juli-ish, Eureka Citra or something like that to be available.

Quick question. I will be in the Boston area for the 4th. Are the Treehouse locations usually open on the 4th?

They close for Christmas and Thanksgiving only. You're good.

Because principled beer drinkers think $55 is ridiculous. lmao or people who can't get it!

I really don't find $2 / oz for something that sat in barrels that long to be all that excruciating. That's a person that's never paid for OWK / MJK by the ounce at the Cellar.

I think the price point is fine, it’s the size that does it for me. I’ve purchased mags from them of ba stouts and barleywines, as someone who doesn’t do bottle shares, it’s obviously not the best purchase. If it was in 12 or 16oz bottle I would have gladly went Wednesday morning to grab one.

Regardless I don’t buy many ba beers nowadays, no sweat off my back

I get that - I remember once sitting at SP and we (two of us) tried to split a 375ml, but they had sold out, so I'm like - just get the regular bottle, 750ml, it's the same price. That f'ing bottle seemed neverending. Unless you have a few people around, it's a tough go. I have a few large format bottles in the cellar, and to your point, I pretty much save them to dedicate to bottle shares 2/3x a year.

Not that I’d be thrilled to do this with a $55 bottle, but I’ve had mostly great results with opening bottles that aren’t for one person/ sitting, pouring gently, then putting the cap back on as well as possible and putting back in the fridge. Good way to have something like this over the course of the weekend, usually takes til day 3 to get fully flat and in some cases that’s not even bad.

Preach. I purchased an irresponsible amount of Treehouse this weekend to take back to St. Louis because Side Project has completely ruined what I think beer should cost.

I had King Jjjulius for the first time yesterday. It was a spectacular beer. Ddddoublegangerrr was nearly as great. Both were very special.

Did Haze Punch really sell out in Tewksbury in two days? Literally the one thing we went to get today. How, every other location has it

Stopped in today at opening. Thought they opened at 11 and was confused when I saw a line of people. Thought I made a huge mistake going today, but luckily I hopped in the pour line without waiting to get a wrist band because they give them to you while you wait. Another thing I never saw which was very convenient (I almost never go on weekends when it’s busy, so maybe that only happens then?). Grabbed a quick pour if Creamsicle, which was very good and then got in the non-existent can line and grabbed my 2 cases and left. Pretty smooth, but it was getting super crowded, fast. The lower lot was half full by the time I left around 1pm, and the pour line at the main bar was at least 75 people. The experience on a weekend was interesting. Maybe because of Father’s Day, but there were a ton of little kids looking bored to death haha. Also lots of girls dressed up like they were going out for the night. Funny how things change. Beer used to be boring, but now when you go to Tree House, it’s an event

Very interested in trying Haze Punch, Batch 7,000 and King Sorbet creamsicle

First time back in a good while. I am not typically opposed to kids in this setting, but today was pretty crazy. A unique day for sure. That said, the amount of kids running around un-attended that I saw today reached uncomfortable levels for me personally and I had to leave prior to having the pour limit even after driving a distance to get there.

You just can’t beat it on a weekday. It’s so chill and the setting/atmosphere is unrivaled, imo.

Haze Punch was pretty good, but I wish it was a lower abv beer. It didn’t really remind me of Haze at all, so it could have been done as a different beer with lower alcohol. I’m sure i’m in the minority.

Fresh Little Peach was very tasty. I normally don’t like Peacharine that much, or their pale ales, but this was great.

Batch 7,000 was definitely in that upper echelon haze category that I’m sure everyone will absolutely love. Again, Peacharine isn’t my favorite hop, so it was held back from being a top tier offering from TH, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it, and I could appreciate how high quality it is. It was in that 7.5-8% abv range, which is the goldie locks zone for me
