Damn, Brownie is legit. The fact that it’s still available after a few months is crazy. If a brewery like Side Project released this it would be $75, 1pp, and the lottery to buy it would sell out in minutes. I remember their stouts selling out much faster, so either people are no longer as interested, or they’ve been able to acquire a shit ton of barrels for production.

Still sucks to pay $25, but again, if this was something like a BCBS variant, it would be at least $50 on the shelves

Seriously. Brownie was insanely good. Absolutely worth the price. Getting through the wax on my bottle was a PITA though.

And yeah, basically the same price as this year’s BCBS variants (which IMO sucked - reg tasting good though).

Confirmed on the wax. All brewers need to contact Fox Farm and find out what they used to seal Copestone last year. You could open the cap through the wax. It was soft like silly putty

Serious question, why doesn't treehouse brew any "normal" stouts? They are all either milk, sweet, or imperial stouts (or a combination of those three). Are such stouts really that unpopular? I mean, they brew Old Hat, which is an amber ale. Is a regular stout less popular than an amber ale? I'm curious.

is Single Shot considered "normal"? Also, I don't claim to know the difference between Porters and Stouts, but their Porters might be what you're looking for.

SS is a milk stout. The porters are great, but they are not stout.

The only one I can think of should be around in the next month for St Patrick's Day, Oh Danny Boy.

What porters? I've not seen any, save for "Ace in Hole," which I agree is excellent. But isn't that technically a baltic porter because it uses lager yeast? I don't know. Perhaps someone with more knowledge on the subject can chime in.

Ace in the Hole seems to be offered somewhat regularly. Do they brew other porters besides Ace in the Hole that regularly?

BTW, I should mention that I've drank a good bit of TH porters in the last year or 2 simply because on any given day, all available stout has lactose or been in a barrel.

Cozy, Catharsis, and the Baltic porters, but they are a fall-back choice for me. I'd love more stout at any strength without adjuncts or barrels.

Although technically a porter, Hustle was the best dark and roasty beer they made. Brewed by the guy who left and became a dentist. I think his name was Hermey.

I bought Danny Boy last year and thought it was pretty good, even though the nitro charge didnt make it creamy like nitro should. Other than that, I find all the stouts and porters in recent years to be overly sweet, thick, and syrupy.

Yes, I think regular stouts are not popular at all. Didn’t Sierra discontinue or greatly limit their stout years ago? I’ll always enjoy a good classic stout (or brown for that matter), but there isn’t much of a market for them.
