Yo! I am still pissed about the paint varnish that they repurposed as some bourbon barrel aged maple syrup for an 18 dollar 250ml bottle. Truly gross. But I also bought two cases of beer there today. I have bought a ton of beers from Tree House over the past 7 years and I have literally only had 3 beers from them that I thought should have been caught by a QC process. Also, where the hell is Lights On?

    Native Eight Bottle Service

This ticket entitles you to a truly delightful 16 ounce bottle of Native Eight available at the Charlton Classics bar, to be enjoyed on premises. Native Eight is a mixed fermentation ale brewed with pilsner malt, wheat, and unmalted spelt. A three year slumber in French Oak resulted in a beer of incredible depth, complexity, and inimitable character. Notes of sour cherry, hay, barnyard funk, and mouth-puckering apricot. 5.6% ABV

That's fun. It looks like it costs the same to drink on site as it did to go, but I'm not 100% sure I'm remembering right. Will kind of miss the harmony glass coming with it, though again if I'm remembering right it cost more for the bottle + glass.

I wonder if it's true that all the Natives were Brandon, they were really starting to hit their stride with 7-8-9.

I enjoyed a few bottles of Native 8, but for the cost,I would easily chose a bottle of Cuvee Rene or Allagash offering. I have been impressed with the stout and barley wine offerings from Tree House, but their oak aged wild ale game is priced over the competitors, while falling short Of course, I hope they will rise to the level of Allagash or Jester King, but it aint there yet.

Yeah, I've never really understood the price point on them. TH is priced pretty comparably (if not slightly better than) their competitors when it comes to IPAs and stouts. The mixed culture stuff on the other hand is priced almost like barrel aged HF, but is closer to the shelfies in terms of (stated) recipe. I think a few of them have been very good, but there are way better values out there at $20+ for 500ml. And in general, seems to have taken a back seat in their offerings of late.

Would agree with first post on this page about the hit rate. I've had maybe 2 legitimately bad cans in the past ~2 years. Worst beer on an average trip is like a strong 7.5.

This may help- I think the current Free To Roam is as good as any canned lager from Hill Farmstead. I thought about going up to HF next week to get some of the the extended lagering Marie, but I have plenty of Free to Roam, so I won't bother. I would cross post this in the HF thread, but I don't want those zealots to come after me. Zatec Harvest is tasty as well. I wish I bought more of it.

OR and this is a choose your own adventure

Two of the barreled aged 12 oz tree house bottles costs the same as a handle of Jim Beam plus a tall boy 6 pack of Jack's House Lager. WTF

Green / vg / vggg is my favorite neipa lineup of all time, I cannot wait to try It. I haven’t tried any of their fruit / purée core beers because I’m not really into anything more than water, hops, yeast, and malt in my ipas, but I have to try yellow.

Definitely more in the hazy/julius camp but green seeped in pineapple puree just sounds really refreshing and too good to pass up.

I also really want to try Yellow. Speaking of which, does anyone know the difference between the named variants and the ones that just say with x fruit? Sandwich has a King Julius with Peach on tap now. Is there any real difference between that and King Cobbler?

I can’t fine a definitive answer. My guess, is that king Julius with peach, is just peach purée. That’s 100% speculative.

Just finished drinking Yellow, one of my favorite TH beers in recent memory. The balance is much better than in the OG Green (of which I am not the biggest fan but still think is good) with the slightly tart pineapple. Highly recommend

Took a trip down to Sandwich today to meet me friend for a few pours. My first time actually drinking there, what an awesome place. Ocean views are always a win. Walked away with over a case of fun stuff. Just had Yellow as mentioned, and particularly looking forward to Emperor Julius and Cozy, but I'm sure everything else will be good too

Awesome, I gotta get it before they run out for now. Luckily they have a bunch of good stout options to keep the meager two pack company on the car ride back
