I wonder if we'll be able to try their spirits on site any time soon. just like its nice to have a pour of a thing before you buy 4-24 cans of it, would be cool to try the spirits before throwing down for a bottle.

Jumping on the liquor conversation, I got a bottle of Kola about a year ago and really enjoy it. Actually ended up with a second bottle of it as a replacement when they ran out of Cafe Kola, the Stout aged in those barrels (I believe). Then I got the Richley Rum. It’s solid but nothing to write home about. Then on a whim last time I visited, I decided to pick up the Concord Club canned cocktail. That thing was awesome, especially for hot summer days. That being said, I’m not surprised their bourbon isn’t great. Maybe one day I’ll grab it out of morbid curiosity

I would argue you can't make a solid bourbon unless you have a non-climate controlled warehouse environment to age barrels in. I assume TH doesnt have one of those (yet?). Most micro distilleries dont either and that's why most non-Kentucky Straight Bourbons are pretty awful. Quality aging comes from barrels sitting in a baking hot warehouse in the summer and then chilling in a cold, sometimes frozen, warehouse in the winter. The seasonal cycle of expansion and contraction within the barrel, forcing the alcohol into the wood, then pulling it back...that's where the best oak flavor comes from.

Stopped by around 6 tonight, hoping it wouldn’t be busy. It was. My main purpose for the visit was to grab Truth on tap, stuck it out and waited in line. That’ll be my one of about three Saturday visits throughout the year. Truth was delicious on tap, as it was in the 750s.

walked out with a four pack of king Julius, and four pack of very green. Probably the smallest order they filled.

Apparently they are nearing or at capacity for brewing. They may have to scale up in order to fill the golf course demand. I guess the new locations haven’t offset the demand at charlton, as much as they’ve gained new / more regular customers.

I’m sure someone can chime in.

I do have one complaint, and it’s been covered here, but I’m going to complain anyways. Truth, in a plastic cup? Do we really think that’s a craft beer experience?

Everyone stole the glass cups and ruined it for everyone.

Luckily the liquid you drink tastes the same whether the the transportation method used for it is plastic or glass

Every time I’m at home, I reach for a disposable plastic cup when I pour myself a beer, because it tastes the same, luckily.

I agree with this notion. I think it’s probably just a logistic issue. Could you imagine how many glasses they would be washing. But I guess that’s what machines are for. And if they can have 10 people on staff directing traffic why not washing dishes lol.

I will say that “taste” is impacted by multiple factors. The glassware, as well as the environment, the weather, the music playing, your mood - can all effect how you perceive or “taste” a beer in that moment. I have had the same beer served in a nonic pint and a teku. I enjoyed both, but the experience feels a bit different.

I love drinking beer out of wine glasses. Makes me feel like a fancy pants.

They still default to glass when it's not busy.

Anyone experiencing the Deerfield location not being on point recently? I just had king Julius, haze, and green cans and none were even remotely close to what I’ve been accustomed to. It’s either super muted or overly ripe fruit salad.

I understand, it’s uncommon for me not to visit every Tuesday or Wednesday.

Aren't all the beers brewed in Charlton and then the cans sent to each location? That’s what I’ve always thought so it’s not a location not being on point, but the beers that you’re experiencing.

I was t aware of that if it’s the case- Deerfield is huge so figured they brewed there too.

Yeah, it’s basically all brewed in Charlton. I was told they were still brewing in Monson as well, but it’s a very small percentage. Definitely the same beer at Deerfield, relative to any other location.

could it be how their storing the beers? Or the transport? I would assume their maintaining cold chain the whole time…

I mean, beers out of Charlton are inconsistent. Within the same batch, some cans are amazing, others muted, some disgusting. I don't think it's necessarily unique to them driving the beer to a different location. I would posit that that's just how the beer is. That's just based off of my own experience.
