Fisherman’s View is the right choice.

they frequently mention hop variety, esp if they're featuring something they deem special. Plenty of new beers have descriptions stating Nectaron, Peacharon, Nelson, and just today Zappa and HBC 1019

Sure but for batch 6,000 it's a wall of text with no actual description

I would guess its a blend of many different hops, hence no real mention of specific ones to highlight. I would also guess it doesn’t have any of the new hops they are playing with. Finally, would guess its the classic house yeast.

The Fishizzle sandwich is excellent and their Cajun fries…mmmm

I dig batch 6000. Easiest way to describe and compare it would be that it’s pretty damn unique and not something I can pinpoint

As many of you probably have, I’ve been able to check out the top north east breweries who brew hazies. Tree House is still easily my favorite. The only brewery I haven’t tried that I would like to, is Troon.

I’m sure TH house yeast has plenty to do with it, they’re the juiciest of the juicy. I’d still take Julius or Haze over so many other top brews from north east breweries

In my opinion there are a decent amount breweries that put out equal quality IPAs these days, although that's not saying that Tree House is not fantastic. I still very much love the core 4. They're probably all in my top 10 favorite IPAs.

Short list of breweries off the top of my head who are putting out fantastic NEIPAs that are easy to obtain: Long Live, Tilted Barn, Vitamin Sea, Belleflower, Modestman

I like all those breweries also & would add Bissell & Spyglass at the top, but I don't think they are as consistent as Tree House on hops.

I have yet to try Fidens, but the hype seems real

I still like Tree House the best*. Fidens is the first very hyped one that I like close to equally - so much hype over the years for Other Half and Monkish, and I’ve enjoyed beers from them quite a bit, but neither has wowed me as much as the best TH IPAs have. Fidens I can’t understand the “TH killer” hype, I think the contingent of fb TH haters/better in Monsoners/wouldn’t drink that swill when there’s Fidens now is one of the most pathetic things I’ve seen in craft beer. But damn if they aren’t pretty much equally as good.

    * because I like the VT classics as much or more, I just don’t really think they’re a direct comparison. Kinda how I feel about Bissell too, though give me an HT over any of their beer any day.

I think Fidens is a great brewery that can brew killer beer, but, if I’m comparing something like Jasper (DIPA with citra) to King Julius, I’ll take KJ 9/10 times. I might even take Julius over Jasper.

I like Fidens too, they make really good NEIPAs, but that's pretty much all that they make. Tree House has so much more versatility.

For me TH may be the king these days.

    As mentioned for close to…

    Vitamin Sea
Trillium (don’t care what people say)
    Modest Man
    Long Live(fucking impressed in Boston)
    Bissel Brahs
    Belleflower
    Stoneface

    Other Half(But out of region)
Notch(but too specific to be in the list)

No matter what though, no one is at the level of Nate and Treehouse. They just aren’t. Even Ol Man Arrogant Kimmich. Heady is still a top 10 for me. But it’s not number one. Treehouse is the only brewey to use purée, fruit, etc in hoppy beers that actually blew me away. Add in world class stouts, barrel game, lagers, etc. literally no one can top them. I get the hill farmstead blah blah yeah I’ve been a ton since the old growler room to what it is now. Some of their shit is amazing and I appreciate it. But what TH has been able to do at that scale and not rely on some remote area and weird family lineage and small availability is amazing.

Also let’s face it, Good Morning lore has eclipsed Heady and Kate the great lore and mystique at this point. Imagine if it came back

If Good Morning came back brewed EXACTLY as it was years ago, my belief is that people would say it isn’t as good as they remember or they would say “it’s different” with all kinds of speculation as to why.

As far as the Alchemist: Ol Man Arrogant Kimmich? Is that a thing? Never heard that before. Can you shed light on that? If he’s arrogant, he does a whole lot of non-arrogant things, like charging a mere $13 per 4 pack, for every brand they sell. He donates all tips to charity. He just brewed a beer for flood relief, donating all proceeds to charity. He does all kinds of thing like this. The place is possibly the most inclusive brewery I have ever seen when it comes to the cultural climate of the place. The employees are well-paid, friendly, and knowledgeable, as friendly and as knowledgeable as any brewery I have ever visited. The Alchemist is also a certified B-Corp.

So I seem to enjoy Tree House beers that look like the one on the right rather than the one on the left.. Is there any way to determine what their beers will look like? lol

Just giving him some shit from one of the podcasts he did not too long ago(ol man k was just sarcasm:wink:) Which was discussed at length and while many were agreeing some of us saw some arrogance come out about his beer vs any other breweries. I’ll find it again. I do love their beer. But aside from the skadoosh series it hasn’t innovated since pub days as much. Then again, I guess the majority found Heady and craft beer post Irene. So I get it.

Regardless of that I stand by TH being king at the moment.
