Regarding Double Citra: I had a pour at the Five Horses Tavern in Somerville about a month ago and actually thought they gave me the wrong beer. It looked nothing like the beer I’ve had previously. It tasted fine, but I certainly wouldn’t order it again.

There was a run last year where their IPAs just tasted like absolute dogshit on tap. Susan was really bad, Harlan was undrinkable, Double Nelson was watery bullshit. I'm forgetting a few.

Back to normal now, the last few things I've had were exquisite, but they're certainly not infallible anymore.

Watched TH videos that didn’t come out video.

Sucks they scrapped the video where Nate answers about certain older beers that haven’t been brewed in forever and which ones may come back. You know the Good Morning question would’ve been addressed. Also his thoughts behind doing collaborations. And for good measure his favorite non TH beer. Ah well, someday it will be fun to watch.

I had a really lousy tasting pour of Ephraim at Armsby during that same timeframe.

I must have lucked out last year because I went a ton and almost everything was excellent. But I have had some pretty meh Edward on tap in 2023.

Yeah I don’t really want to further the bad pours talk but I’ve also had a few from Edward. Which considering there’s 0 chance accounts hang on to their kegs long I can’t see how it’s off. Unless some places do hoard some kegs. Like 99% of other brands. It’s extremely rare I’ll order an ipa without a sample now. Constantly burned on old kegs

I’m a green head, it’s arguably my favorite beer, - side note: anyone remember that Newburyport beer? - anywho is Liquid Green something I need to try?

Just had a can of Golden Fern last night dated late July. I had had one previously maybe two weeks ago. Wow, is that beer tasting good. Easily one of the best Tree House beers that I've had over the years. The New Zealand hops were tasting near perfect.

Summer and super typhoon were 2 of my favorites from recent haul. That said:

what are your thoughts on summer vs heat wave?

Also what’s your favorite out of the hurricane aeries? I think next time I’ll definitely grab tornado if they have it. I’d probably get hurricane if super typhoon was unavailable. Not sure the 2 higher level ones tho- pink and blue can versions

This one’s for all those who hate being served in plastic at the brewery

Treehouse literally gave us an extra stack of TH plastic cups to bring home for the patio and we couldn’t be happier!

I fucking love clear plastic cups. I think most of us would obviously prefer a glass, but I don't understand getting worked up over it. But that's just me.

The same people who won’t let their neighbor park their boat at the house because it’s unsightly

Rare moment of naysaying from me here, especially so in going against consensus...I didn't really like Silver Fern. Surprise because I'm about as big of a TH and NZ hop fanboy as there is, but I had the last of my 4 last night and it never really hit for me. I found it a bit over the top, and the super hopped ones are somewhat hit or miss for me. I can't imagine what Golden Fern must be like in that regard haha.

It was like mud and really sweet. Way over the top for me.

At $8 a pop, yes, I expect proper glassware. I don't even understand why anyone would resent my having that opinion. Now, were you to serve me Bud from a keg at a frat party, then a red plastic solo cup would be proper glassware. And I'd be the first to say so, just before throwing up in your bushes.

As for parking boats on the lawn, please, I live in New Hampshire - I'm just grateful when my neighbors burn their garbage downwind of my outhouse.

I don't personally resent your having an opinion. I just don't agree with it.

I do understand where you're coming from, but ultimately you are paying for the liquid. If you notice a discernable difference in flavor/aroma then yeah I can understand wanting a glass.

But this is one of those lol TH thread arguments so yeah
